A Few Moments From The Horse Show

We found high speed internet at a Panera Bread so I have a few moments to put up a couple of photos from today.

The National Peruvian Horse Show started today at 8am and we were there despite a late arrival in Texas last night. It was thrilling to see so many magnificent horses all in one place.

 

 

 

 

This is just a teaser. There are many more photos as well as video. Tomorrow we will have the opportunity to see the Champagne Class - this is where the rider carries a tray with a glass of champagne on it to show how smooth a ride this breed of horse provides.

Oh, boy, this looks fabulous! So glad to hear you all made it and are enjoying the show. I love the way everyone is dressed in white, so classy to match the classy steeds.

Bet you are having a great time. The Champagne Class sounds fascinating. Imagine a horse that moves so smoothly. I probably could manage to stay ON one of those! (My last horse ride many years ago was not too successful!)

I love the idea of a champagne class! I'm reminded of those old car commercials. The ones where a diamond cutter worked in the back of a moving vehice to show how smooth the ride was. Could be a futire event...

Oh, they're beautiful. Are Peruvians known for their gait like Tennessee Walkers? I'm not familiar with the breed, but they look lovely. Send more pictures!

The very first photo got my attention. Do I see that famous blonde mane (and slightly darker tail) that is so beautifully present on our little girl Anastasia? I can see it looks good in the ring. We may have to consider her as a future show horse. If we can just break her of the habit of rolling in the dirt. She does like her exercise.
Looking forward to your return, the many stories, and even more photos.
Enjoy! Enjoy! Enjoy! You must stay there until the very last moment of the show on Sunday. I know you have to work on Monday morning, but, as I said before, Deb can drive home while you rest, and be bright-eyed and bushy-tailed on Monday morning and she can sleep!

Thanks for the "postcard"--I've been wondering how your trip was going. The horses look wonderful and so well-groomed. The last horses I saw were in Argentina, and they looked somewhat bedraggled. It had just rained, and the field was muddy.

Just beautiful! A far cry from the little mustangs the Kumeyaay cousins let roam here at the horse camp. But I love all horses, and wonder why they agree so readily to what we ask of them. Thanks for this teaser.

The show was awesome! It was breathtaking to see so many world class Peruvians in one place.
Brenda, the Peruvian judge was probably married. Tonia still got several more shots of him for you. :)

Kris, yes. The Peruvian Paso, the national horse of Peru, is bred for it's natural gait, sweet disposition and physical stamina. 100% of purebred foals have the gait. No special training is required to accentuate it. They are always shown without shoes and their gait is completely natural.
