It's more than luck; it's a real blessing! As we've been without heat at one time or another, electricity for a short time, a solid roof over our heads, no hot water only cold water for a season, we appreciate these things more.

But I've never been without a supportive family, love, and faith. So it's way too easy to take those for granted. Thanks for the reminder.

While I was growing up and for various reasons I spent time in a house without electricity or without heat and with a very leaky roof over my head! It is the little things that we should appreciate for there are so many out there without anything at all. I have always known love though so in some ways i have always been lucky! I am very lucky now because I have the love of two great children and also a beautiful lady that I've known for a little over a year and grow to love more each day!

Danielle- I work with homeless people and you are so right. People often take for granted the "riches" in their life, even though they aren't the latest, greatest gadget but the simple things we all would miss so terribly if they weren't there - health, family, shelter, clothes.

Debbie - This was the last line of what was written above " If you have faith, you have it all. "
Doesn't that encompass what you said?

My SO and I took in a homeless friend this past week. We helped him find an apartment, got the utilities on and now we are going to help him with the barest of essentials until he can get on his feet. He is looking for a job.
My SO just got a job and has not even received his first paycheck yet, so money is tight for us. I would rather go without for a while then see anyone homeless.

This made me see I am soooooooooo lucky.
