We ate dinner with relatives last night and their daughter is obsessed with Hanna Montana. I got enough info to know she is on Disney (right?) and that seats to an upcoming concert are priced at 3K each - $3000 for the first floor, "kind of" close to the stage. Needless to say, they aren't going - but, oh, how my little niece wants to go!
So, anyone in the same boat, explain it to me, please. What sets her apart? What makes her the star of the moment for young girls? Thanks!

If they had tried to use another person in that role, maybe it would have floundered?
hope this help good luck :}
:)
I will tell anyone looking to get tickets, watch ticketmaster constantly the week of your show because at least 40% of tickets were held back by the promoters and are typically released the week of the show.
The ticket thing... I think that brokers helkped get the hype up by causing the sell out's themselves (brokers will buy up massive amounts of tickets for any concert that they think will sell good, causing the sell out, and upping the interest), then they resell the tickets at massive rates.
I've beent rying to win a pair, to no avail. I'm not about to spend the money on it, though, no way.
Sorry to drift off-topic....

I went to high school with him and he is currently a marketing wizard, and has hookups to EVERYTHING, inlcuding Hannah Montana.
A sideline: There is a new piece of software out which buys up most of the tickets to hot concerts. (Hanna Montana has the highest demand.) This piece of software has let the major scalpers online control the tickets.
Wow, that is news to me!
I'd NEVER pay $3000 for a concert ticket. Never!
#2 - She's very talented
# 3 - she has great family values
# 4 - her show is very simple minded so all ages enjoy watching (My 5 yr old included - WHEN I give in and let her)
# 5 - she is very cute - really
With that being said - anyone who pays that much for a concert ticket is INSANE!!!!!!!!

I wanted to take my daughter to the concert next month, but there is no way.
Scalpers bought all the tickets & thats why they are so high.
It was on the news that ticketmaster was going to sue some company on the internet, who made software that people can use to fake some authenticity mark, allowing these scalpers to buy 100's of tickets at once.
I think its crap that people are trying to take advantage of the young kids who like her like this.
I have three children, two sons and I am new to this girl stuff myself. My daughter is slightly tom boyish but loves her.
I think because my daughter identifies with her character. She seems like a real young girl. You have to watch the show to see why people like her. I had to watch it to see fr myself. Now I am a fan too. lol
You have to understand, my daughter Alexandra has always been a tom boy. She is a tween now and I am seeing some changes.
She has two brothers, and is the youngest. She's always played with their toys, hated Barbie and avoided the color pink like the plague.
So when she started commenting on fashion and requesting jewelry, I sat still and paid attention.
If I can get my little sweetheart to wear something other than black, blue or red, I am a happy camper.
So, enter Hannah Montana into our lives.
I found out who Hannah Montana was earlier this year. I mean, I'd seen the name on TV and saw my daughter watching the show late last year, but only stopped to pay attention when my daughter, age 10, requested her cd for her birthday. I then set the DVR to record a marathon of the show and when my son (best buddy of my daughter) was gone one too many nights(summer sleep overs), we watched the show together.
I was pleasantly surprised. Hannah Montana is cute and fun.
Yes, Hannah Montana is a Disney Channel show.
On the show she is a famous pop star who keeps her musical career a secret so she can lead a normal life when she's not on stage. That quickly gets complicated because the actress Miley Cyrus plays both Miley Stewart and her secret identity Hannah Montana.
Miley lives a double life as an average teenage girl at school during the day and a famous pop singer, "Hannah Montana", at night.
Only her close family and best friends know that she is really Hannah Montana.
Her father, (real life Billy Ray Cyrus of Achy Break Heart fame back in the 80's) plays Robby Ray,Miley (and Hannah's) widowed dad . He is also the manager of Hannah Montana.
The series premiere scored record ratings for Disney Channel topping off at 5.4 million viewers. So far the show, Hannah Montana has been nominated for a 2007 Creative Arts Emmy. (Outstanding Children's Program)
I have high hopes for Miss Hannah Montana, I hope she handles celebrity well, and does not fall apart growing up.(like some others lately)
She can sing, has positive lyrics and although not really on the pop charts yet. Her show is being shown in many countries and she's been touring all around the world. (mostly Disney locations) (She is number one on Disney Radio and interestingly enough, when I went to buy her cd late June, the Best Buy clerk said her cd outsold everything else that week)
She reminds me of an "I love Lucy" of current times. (younger, but funny)
Looking around online at school clothes (for my daughter) we found out Hannah Montana even has a clothing line .I was bummed to find out its not cheap and is hard to find.
I found her backpacks on ebay selling for close to 50.00. (and they originally sold at Toys R Us for 15.99)
I googled Hannah Montana backpack and after a good half hour of research, found forums and fan information leading me to fan bragging posts on where kids got their Hannah Montana merchandise.

The show is fun, way over the top acting - and it has just enough inside jokes that the parents watching with their kids will get some laughs too - mostly at Billy Ray's expense. Making fun of his one hit, making fun him being on Dancing with the Stars, making fun of his mullet. Plus, the stories mostly seem to have Hannah/Miley making a big mistake and trying to fix it, learning a lesson about life in the process, so it's got that going for it as well.
Another aspect to the Hannah Montana phenomenon and parents crying is a new generation of concert goers that haven't had to deal much with ticket brokers.
"A typical Van Halen concert goer knows the system. They've been to four or five Van Halen shows and they know how crazy the business is. They know that they have to wait in line, they know there's not a guarantee that they can get a ticket and at the end of the day if they get turned away they say, 'Hey, listen, I chose either not to pay for a secondhand ticket or I just wasn't fast enough,'" "With these parents, that's not good enough. They're like, 'We support the show, we sit at home and watch it every single night. I want to take my kids - how do I go home and tell my kids either I couldn't get them a ticket or we can't afford it?'
