The first question a skydiver usually gets is "Why would any one want to jump out of a prefectly good airplane?" We call them 'Wuffos" The typical response is because the door was open!! Skydiving is not for everyone but it is something everyone should do at least once! It will give you a whole 'altitude adjustment!' And you will never look at the sky the same again! In the words of DaVinci "once you have tasted flight your eyes will be forever drawn to the skies, for there you have been and there you long to return....(not exactly word for word but close enough)

We have all had dreams of flying. Well, skydiving is as close to flying as a human can possibly come! It can change your life. My husband is a professional skydiver and one of my favorite stories is a letter we got a few winters back during the off season. A time when most pro jumpers are chasing the sun and thanking god for ramine noodles! Honestly, neither one of us can remember the kid, but obviously we did something right! In his letter he explained to us that he had been on his way to kill himself when he happened past the drop zone and read the sign that said "Jump Tandem Today."
He figured what the heck? He was about to off himself anyway. So why not? He went on to tell us that my friendly enthusiam as I registered him for the jump and Chip's little "welcome to my world" talk during the jump had made him realize that life was worth living and that everything looked small in comparison to the majesty of the world around him! He began to realize that if he could jump out of a plane he could do anything!! It really warmed our hearts on a cold winter's eve and made all the tough and rainy days, broken and sometimes hungry all worth while!
Second there is always the thought that skydivers must have a death wish! WRONG!! Skydivers honor life and want to live more than most...if only to be able to jump another day! I have met people from every walk of life while partaking in this marvelous sport! From doctors to truck divers, PHDs to high school drop-outs and everyone in between. All have one thing in common. They long for blue skies, fast planes, cold beer and good friends!
Here are just a few pictures of me and some of my favorite people!

Flying high and falling fast!
What a ride!
Head down! Speed limit 120MPH not enforced!

Is that cloud 9?
Free fall smooches!
Chip and I tandem!

Daddy and his little girl!
Fly your tongue anyone?
My 'baby' getting ready to jump

Not sure but, I think he likes it!!
Just another day at the office. Chip rides the front while training a new tandem master. Can you see the fear on their faces? LOL Fear is good! It will keep you honest. It will keep you safe!
Loading up!

Packing the Mac truck tandem canopy!

Setting up for landing.

Sunset beach jump!
Going home!!
Always remember minds are like parachutes...they only work when their open!!
And to any jumpers out there..Remember to be safe. It is a thin line from being a hotdog and being a weenie!! ;)
Be blessed with blue skies and warm breezes!
