So I went on a second date with the med student I wrote about last week. We went out this past Sunday for yet another relaxing afternoon in NYC.
The night before we had decided to meet at noon in Columbus Circle, in front of the Time Warner building, the site of our last meeting. Again, we went to Whole Foods for lunch and ate there since it was so hot outside! We sat in Whole Foods eating our salads and chit chatting for about 45 minutes. He was speaking a lot about the hospital and some of his patients and I was speaking about my work (which I should be doing as I type this article)!
We left Whole Foods and walked across the street to Central Park, where we headed towards the Central Park Zoo! We had planned this when I called him from the train that morning! He suggested the Zoo which was so perfect since I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE zoos. I also find it amazing that there is such a beautiful zoo in the middle of a huge city, in a spot where barely any of the buildings surrounding the park are visible.
We wandered around the park for a few hours, getting there at animal lunch time! We first trecked into the aviary, where we saw some of the most beautiful birds! I wish I would have taken a picture. There was this one bird that was Yellow, Green and purple (very in style since they were all jewel tones)!!!!! And there was another big bird with something that looked like a crown atop it's head. It was so interesting!
We also some some monkies being fed and were lucky enough to catch the sealion feeding in the center of the park near the entrance! It was awesome! Once of the sealion trainers was short and the sealion was having trouble seeing him above the rocks and so did not know what to do at certain times! It was so cute! I think that sealions name was Scooter! Cute name!
We wandered around the zoo for another hour or so and then left. We walked through the park around the 70s, an area of the park I have never been to! It was beautiful! Did you know there is a roller rink in Central Park?? Some of the skaters have AMAZING roller skating skills! It was so cool. We watched the roller skaters for about 30 minutes and then I had to begin my treck back downtown since I had to attend a friend's surprise party.
We spent a total of 5 hours together just walking and talking through Central Park. It was a wonderful New York day and we seem to get along really well! I wanted to kiss him but I had a bit of a cold so I didn't think that would be such a great idea!!!!
Anyway...I have a couple dates planned for this coming weekend and I can't wait to write about all of them!

I lived in NYC a full year, my entire family is from NY, and I've never been to the zoo. How pathetic is that?
