The World Series

Well, my beloved Yankees have taken another quick exit from the playoffs. So now I can be objective about the rest of the post season.

Rockies vs. D-Backs

Neither team is a powerhouse. The Rockies finished 1/2 game behind Arizona in the regular season. The Rockies beat a great Phillies team in the NLDS. I think it will be a long series, but the Rockies will win it.

Red Sox vs. Indians

The Red Sox have a better bullpen, stronger bats, better fielding, and a truly cohesive team that can play small ball as well as hit for power. The Indians have good starting pitching and a 5 man rotation and the Red Sox are down to a 3 man rotation due to injuries, inluding Tim Wakefield who is not even on the active roster. Despite the pitching imbalance, I think the Red Sox will win this series.

World Series

I hate to say it....Red Sox pummel the Rockies in 5.

Next year, however....GO YANKEES!!!! (with Joe Torre)

yeah...they have been quite anemic that past few years in the playoffs. The Indians should have won game 2 by about 15 runs. They were something like 1 for 15 with runners in scoring position. The Yanks just couldn't hit. Again. And A-Rod didn't come through when it mattered. Again. Very frustrating.

But, the Yankees season is over. Now it's time to enjoy the season as a baseball fan and not a Yankees fan. I guess I'm rooting for whoever is playing Boston, but I think they will take it all this year.
