Black Forest Cream Pie
1 9” baked pie shell (see recipe for Sweet Pie Crust)
1 4 oz. package cream cheese, softened
3/4 c. powdered sugar
3 TBS. cocoa
½ tsp. Vanilla (we use Mexican)
1 c. heavy cream, whipped, or 1 med. size container Cool Whip
1 can cherry pie filling
Cream the sugar, vanilla cocoa & cream cheese. Fold in whipped cream (use chocolate flavored cool whip if desired.) & pour into baked pie shell. Put pie filling on top. Chill several hours or overnight. Top with whip cream and drizzle with Chocolate Sauce right before serving.
Sweet Pie Crust
3 c. flour
2 TBS. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 c. oil
4 TBS. milk
Mix well & pat on sides & bottom of (2) 9" pie tins or on the bottom only of a 9x13" cake pan. Prick lightly with fork. Bake at 375° until light brown. Cool.
