Has anyone else out there had their comments deleted? I was just following up on some comments that I had posted, and I noticed that one of my comments had been deleted. It really offended and angered me, because I have no idea why it was deleted. This person had made stained-glass pictures that were purchased by a husband and wife, and posed the question which of the two had liked the fish and which had liked the sailboat. I took the time to read and post my quess (I guessed the husband liked the fish and the wife liked the sailboat). That was it. There was nothing at all offensive in my comment, but it was deleted. Has this ever happened to anyone else?

www.ronnierayjenkins.com
where comments are never deleted.
ron - that was you?? I heard it from here!!
comment appeared, as if by magic!.........strange things are happening on the site right now, i have it on fairly unreliable authority that "godar" did it! be patient, and it may come back, like mine did.......and did you eat all the chocolate? it is nice to SHARE, you
know....................lol.............................
I don't know if the problems are the browser, MicroSoft software, Gather -- I just don't know. I only know that until there are confirmations, conclusions are premature. I am attributing it to the ghosts of cyberspace for now.
Penni - I guess that "godar" must have done it, so I'm not going to worry about it. Alright, I know this is probably a stupid question, but who is "godar"? And I didn't eat all the chocolate, so you can have the last bit, unless "godar" ate that, too.
Sammie - Of course I didn't eat your chocolate. I ate "our" chocolate, because what's mine is mine and what's yours is ours ;-)
Anna - I tried being the first to delete your comment, but it just wouldn't delete. It must be those darn cyber-ghosts again! (just kidding)
Sharon - That is a good point. I have commented on articles that required approval before the comments were posted, but at least you know in advance with those that they might not appear.
(there's a beginning article on he/she somewhere, but i heard the author came to a BAD end and did not get to post part two).........alas...
but it is rediculous someone would delete your comment especially when they posed the choice to you
They obviously didn't like me asking if they WERE involved directly with Gather!
When using my laptop with the touchpad thingy instead of a mouse I accidentally click when I'm just trying to move the darn thing. If the cursor is in the wrong place when that happens, POOF!, comment gone.
In fact I deleted one of my daughter's comments when she was sitting right next to me! Haven't heard the end of that one...
If someone feels the need to be that "in control" - good for them, at least they are in cyberspace and not in MY cubicle!
maybe it was just an accident...
Rick - That's funny. I hadn't thought of that, but it does make sense. I have even clicked on things I didn't mean to with the touchpads, which is why I prefer a mouse.
Karie Anne - That is understandable. Fortunately, I haven't had to delete anyone's comments, but I would if it was negative against another Gather member.
Deborah - Good point!
Necee - Thanks. Maybe it was just an accident.
Shaunee - I have never deleted anyone else's comments, either. If I do not agree with something that the post, then I might respond to it but not delete it.
It's a wonderful way to (a) double the points you get for a single comment and (b) annoy the person who deleted your comment.
But in this case, there was no offensive comment so why was it deleted?
