I wasn’t going to waste any time before using some of my Mrs Dash seasonings. I came up with this recipe to use the Garlic Herb blend.
1 lb. ground beef
2 t Garlic Herb (or any Italian seasoning blend)
1 large can diced tomatoes
2 T tomato paste
pinch of nutmeg (optional)
1 (15 oz.) container ricotta cheese
12 oz. Penne pasta, cooked according to package directions
1 cup Parmesan/Asiago/Romano blend cheese, divided
Cook ground beef over medium high heat in a Dutch oven til meat is cooked thoroughly and no pink remains; drain well. Return to pan and stir in seasoning, tomatoes and paste. Reduce heat to medium low and simmer 5-10 minutes.
In the pasta cooking pot, combine nutmeg, ricotta, cooked pasta and 1/3 cup Parmesan blend cheese; season to taste with salt and pepper.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray a 2 quart baking dish with cooking spray.
Spoon one third of the sauce into the bottom of the prepared baking dish. Top with half of pasta mixture. Repeat layers, ending with sauce on top. Sprinkle with 1/3 cup Parmesan blend cheese.
Cover and bake 25 minutes. Uncover; sprinkle with remaining Parmesan blend cheese. Bake 10 more minutes, or til cheese is browned.

You crazee, Mama Cee. I like mustard on my pretzels :)
Hope you like it, Sara!
PS - Good photos!
I actually considered doing exactly that, Arlene. It wouldn't have been missed at all. Maybe throw in some mushrooms instead.
Tonight we had BBQ boneless chicken breasts, leftover mac n cheese as a side, and broccoli.
Thanks, Bundy!
I would love to try this.
I bet the nutmeg adds a nice flavor too.
Rob, you are SUCH a fair weather friend, only coming out when there is food on the table...
Thank you, ladies!
And lazy lasagna sounds like a perfect description!
Glad you liked it :)
Me too, Risa. The problem is I have 4 bottles of cinnamon, two oregano, two nutmeg, you get the idea...
