Another Botanical Question?

We have this beautiful tree growing in the front of our house.

In October to November it begins to bloom with the most fragrant and beautiful flowers.

Again I don't like to sound dumb, but being new to the PNW I have no idea about some of the plants and therefore I have captured these photos so that others might be able to assist me in their identifacation.

I have asked many people and have recieved many different responses- so now i offer it up to my friends on Gather who are interested in plants- botany and botanical identifacation.

This looks like it could be some kind of camelia, although I don't recall camelia's having a fragrance or blooming in the fall. Surely there must be a nursery nearby where you could take a sprig that has leaves flowers and buds---for indentification.

It looks like a camellia to me - and if WA stands for Western Australia, then our spring is your autumn.... and they would flower then!

Washington State- Someone once told me that it is unusual to find them this big they are mostly potted plants- yet obviously this one is different and it smells so great it is tropical and blooms in colder wet weather of Autumn.

Had a tree like that in my yard in Seattle but I don't remember it blooming this time of the year. Have no idea what it was or is.

The weather has been very odd in the USA, so this could be a camellia.

The weather is the weather and It seems to be the same around here today cool and sunny October is a beautiful month- Bon fires and cool crisp evenings here.
