The game today between the Indianapolis Colts and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers is an open and shut, man don't even hesitate, what do you think sort of football game. Indy is unbeaten, and the Bucs look like a team trying to figure out what planet they are on. Yeah, they are 3-1 but who exactly have they played? They looked bad, really and truly and honestly bad in the season opener, but have played decently since. (3-1) versus (4-0) playing in Indy. The stats favor Indy by fourteen points. The Bucs ought not to stand a chance, and quite frankly I wouldn't pick them for anything less than eleven points.
But here's that thing.
The Bucs QB is a man named Jeff Garcia. At 37, Garcia is a dinosaur. He's played on half a dozen teams and he's been in the pro bowl three times, but by and large it's never been Garcia's turn in the Big Game. Usually he's played the part of a fill-in until a real quarterback could be found. The man is a very tough, gritty, hard playing survivor who excels at exceeding expectations.
The game against the Colts is just his sort of game.
Garcia is a known killer of giants. There isn't any fear in him. Put him in a situation where he is supposed to lose and that's when he plays best. No, he'll never have a career like the big name QBs, but he will have his moments.
Never, ever, count the man down, until he is out.
This is the sort of thing I look at when I'm trying to figure out who will win. Is there a Jeff Garcia playing? I wouldn't pick him over Indy, but I might against a lesser foe.
I speak the language. That doesn't mean I'm always right, or even right most of the time, but I do understand what has happened when I'm wrong. People like Garcia make my life a living hell when it comes to picking who wins games, but I have to admit that I like it.
Take Care,
Mike

Am I the "Lady N" that you speak of? This is really sweet! I would even be on the computer right now were I not doing a update of the scores. I did a refresh, which I messed up and took me to this page. . . lo and behold!
I don't send out spam emails anymore -- thanks to Nippy, but you know what! I going to be "audacious" as Senator Obama puts it. Yeah!
YEAH!
You took time out to do this for me!
I'll take time out to direct people to THIS article.
Thank you. Again, I am humbled by the kindness of so many here!
This is lovely!
:=)
They're jealous, Mike! Wants to know "WHO" is this Mike?
They're silly; they don't understand about football, do they?
You're just trying to school me. ooops! Giants just made a TD!
Bye!
PS: The group POW posts a Winner's Circle article, every Friday - in answer to your question "how do you know if you've won?"
OK, duh, I'll send you an invite - hehehehe
When I hear the name "Jeff Garcia" I also hear "Bill Walsh" spoon fed, and understands the game from that perspective. He's been mentored by the best, and maybe his mistake was that of waiting too long -- career mistakes (Steve Young) -- staying in the background, when he was good enough to be a starter, wasn't he?
Therefore, he didn't get the attention/training he may have gotten, had he been the starter at an earlier age.
However, I would never count a "Walsher" out. For what the "elders" may lack in youth, they may very well compensate for in "experience."
The Montanas, Elways, and Favres -- and so many others -- can attest to that.
Am I on the right track or no?
If you realize that Bill Walsh affected the game of football, perhaps more than any one man, you've got a grip on it.
But Walsh was a modern era man, we'll have to see how he affects the future.
What is the world is going on with these teams today? What is up with NOLA?
And why can't the Jets shake the Giants, for example. . .
The Pittsburgh/Seattle game has proven my point about Seattle. We fared (we being the 49ers) much better with Pittsburg, so the Seattle/San Fran game was a fluke -- San Fran should have won.
I could go. . . today is weird day.
The Broncos are just giving the game away early!

Mike, if I got anything wrong, sorry. I think that is correct though. Now for my San Fran!
I thought the G-men had blown that game!
NOLA? Where for art thou NOLA?
I almost picked Detroit, excpet that Washington plays well at home.
I thought Houston would have walked off with that game, easy, too.
Sorry about the Saints, Nalita, I usually try to pull for them but I couldn't against my Panthers. Who actually won this week. Hope they enjoy it while it lasts.
Man, what a season they are not having!
Because the Saints were once NFC West, I am not particularly crazy about them; they still leave a bad taste in my mouth.
But the 49ers did lose today.
I was up to my usual antics -- had to be reminded that I am temporarily "disabled", you know -- the sciatica, herniated disk, and all that jazz.
ROFL. Had to be placed, legs kicking about in the air like a baby, back on the sofa, thrashing all the time. Maybe someone not into football wouldn't understand. But something just comes over you. Something one doesn't understand. The emotions are hard to control. Doesn't matter whether San Fran wins or loses (Task done they play dominoes until the Packers/Bears game. Hope it's a good game.)
Mike, isn't football the BEST sport going? Doesn't it stir you up to the greatest heights?
Firesmith, 49ers' Defense was outstanding today. I had a feeling about Dilfer, too. I sensed I would like him better than Smith, and I do. But I know, I know. Once Smith is well enough to play, Dilfer will be replaced, and I think that is a huge mistake. But, I am not the august Mr. Nolan, or the idiot owner York, so there you go; youth over experience shall prevail again.
Ravens? Wasn't impressed at all. For all they have been cracked up to be they should have won by at least 7 points if not more. I doubt they even place 2nd in their division -- nope, not impressive at.
Thanks Kris and Mike!
Amen
Anyhoo, Mike you need to see this picture and monument I just found here:

you'd appreciate.
I know you are hawt on the other article about how Gather works, but
Green Bay -20
Chicago-----27
Who would have thunk it?
I guess this is what makes football exciting.
I don't understand why they allowed the clock to run the way it did,
or rather to run out the way it did.
See, it was moments like this, that enticed me into football in the first place.
Montana -- in the same situation -- would have worked that clock differently.
THAT is what made everything around me STOP!......
and I said to myself,
HEY! WHAT IS THIS THING, THIS FOOTBALL
IT'S INTRIGUING! IT'S EXCITING!
Oh well.
Congrats Chicago!
N - I have to send you to better training.
smith is the niners future - he is just learning - Garcia came along AFTER Steve Young was about ready to quit due to concussions - Walsh brought him from Canada - no he as NOT a Steve Young or a Joe M but he is a tough gritty QB as Mike said. He is also close to retirement so don't get too excited about him - he has had his day!
Dilfer is the mentor now - Smith is the prodigy - let's hope he brings it in a year or so!
COLTS!!!!!!!!!!!! ALL THE WAY!
The G-men still aren't in a postion to look past even the Foul-Cons so they ought to win by ten, at least.
That said, the Foul-Cons, historically, have lost games they should have won, and won games they should have lost.
Final word: No one, anywhere, is going broke betting against the foul-cons this year.
Giants by ten.
Hit it fellas!
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzip
zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzip
And I watch ya
Three second later
I got ya shakin' your head
Dancin' instead of sittin'
The rhymes kick
The beats hittin' you
Just like a home run
Slammin' like a slam dunk
Riding the wave that James Brown gave funk
It happened to James like it happened to me
How you think I feel to see another MC
Gettin' paid usin' my rap style
And I'm playn' the background meanwhile
I ain't with that
You can forget that
You took my style
I'm takin' it back
I'm come back like "Return of the Jedi"
Sucker MC's in the place that said I
Could only rock rhymes
Only rock crowds
But never rock records
How ya like me now?
How ya like me now, Mikey?
Mmmm?
Tell me, Mikey
How ya like me now?
And I'm a Picasso
But of course
Why else would you try so
Hard to paint a picture, and try to get ya
Self in my shoes, but they won't fit ya
I'm bigger and better, forget about deffer
Every time I rocked the mic, I left a
Stain in your brain that will remain
Stuck in the back of your brain till you see me
Again, respect, I come correct
The rhymes I select are nothing short of
Vernacular's pure and I can insure
Life od death with my breath, my voice is a cure
I heal life from the words I spread
I'll make a sick man rock on his death bed
Sucker MC's , I'll make your boy say "ow"
He's jockin'
How ya like me now?
When I heard
A sucker rapper that I know I'll serve
Run around town sayin' he is the best
Is that a test?
I'm not impressed
Get real, you're nothin' but a toy
Don't ya know I'll serve that boy
Just like a waiter
Hit'em with a place of
These fresh rhymes and
Make sure that he
Pays the bill ,and leave him standin' still
When he's had enough, hit him with a refil
And for dessert it won't be no ice cream
I'm just gonna splatter and shatter his pipe dream
Make him feel the wrath, beat him and laugh
Then when I finish them,I 'm gonna ask him
Who's the bests, and if he don't say Lady Nee
I'll take my whip and make him call himself Toby
Put him on punishment just like a child, then ask
How ya like me now?
How ya like me now, Mikey?
Mmmm?
How ya like me now?
Like a pony
I'm no phony
I'm the only real micaroni
Playin' the mic like it's supposed to be played
New jacks, you all shoulda stayed out of the business
What is this, amateur night at the Apollo?
Get off this stage,I'm in a rage
I'm like a lion that's been trapped in a cage
I'm the real Queen , rap is a jungle
I never understood, how could one go
To a party, watch me, stand around and jock me
Become a rapper, then try to rock me
Scheming like a demon, you're screamin' and dreamin'
I'm from the old school, I used to see men
Dies for less, but I'm not living that way
I'll let my mic do the talkin'
And let the music play
How ya like me now?
How ya like me now, Mikey?
Mmmm?
How ya like me, now?
Talkin' about battles and never had a battle yet
But if we ever did
How could you beat me
You're so petrified
Even scared to meet me
My word's the law
That's why you don't beef
You're nothing but a punk, track star, and a thief
So I'm puttin' you on punishment
Just like a child
Never touch another mic
How ya like me now?
Holy Cow!
How ya like me now, Mikey, Babeee?
How ya like me now?
There's more on the menu
But relax 'cos I'm so far in you
You had enough
I know you're overstuffed
If I keep going
You'll be throwin' up
Old rhymes I used to say
Back in the day
When you used to me
To my parties and pay
Nobody's ever gonna rack me
This I vow
So all I wanna say is
BayBAY
How ya like me now?
:=p
Hit it fellas!

You behave as though your computer has a heart and a pulse!
WHO has the heart and the pulse, Firesmith? Computer? 01010101. mmm?
