midnight QUEST ion.....not a game

One time I had a bad sore throat that was tickling like crazy. I didn't want to go on vacation because I was sick and preferred to be at home because I get terrible throat/voice/breathing problems that are really scary. My youngest daughter INSISTED that we go anyway and take her a 15 hour drive away to visit her sister. We started out and I took throat lozenges, spray, etc. About a 2 hour drive from home, I started choking and just could not stop, thought I would choke to death. I had my husband turn the car around and head straight for our doctor's office back home. I begged the nurse to let me see the doctor. She checked with him and he let me right in. He gave me an Rx for an antibiotic, for lots of extra strength Vicodin, and lots of Xanax. The Vicodin stops the cough and tickling pretty well and the Xanax was to help me sleep on the 15 hour ride. I didn't sleep but I was able to stop coughing and rest all the way there. While there, the meds kept my sore throat and coughing under some measure of control even though I lost my voice. I did enjoy the trip and get home safely.

Hmmm. Having my son's temperature spike so fast that he almost went into convulsions was scary. When it happened every time he got a temp it was more routine. Having him have pneumonia at only 6 weeks was scary.

Having a cop put a shotgun in my face was scary. Especially since all I did was stop (with my ex) to let the dog pee. Turns out we were at the edge of a parking lot for a business park and it was July 4th and everything was closed. The woman cop came around the corner of the building, saw me and SCREAMED as she was running straight for me with the gun pointing at my face. Yikes. Just thinking about that gives me the creeps.

Having chest pains and being all alone and having to call 911 and going to the hospital knowing no one you know or love knows you're there.

HAD SOME PEPPERS, VERY HOT ONES, AND CUT THEM UP,IN A JAR, FILL WITH WATER AND LEAVE IN FRIDGE UNTIL YOU GET THAT TICKLE,THEN GARGLE WITH IT,AND TAKE A TINY SIP........YOU WOULD FEEL ALL BETTER! I HAVE HAD A JAR GOING FOR 3 YEARS NOW.......GLAD YOU DID GET BACK HOME SAFE!

YEP, mARILYN, WAS ONE WITH THE GUN IN FACE TOO,WHILE COP WAS LETTING THE real CRIMINAL GET AWAY......THEN DID THE HEART ATTACK THING JUST LIKE YOU DID.

almost all of my really scary situations don't involve me being able to do anything about them. Rape, and hearing a nurse tell the doctor if he wasn't here soon, they were going to lose me and my baby. The scariest part about the second one, was that all I could think at the time was that at least it will stop hurting finally.

Jeez... so many to choose from lol. Umm, ok one of the scariest was when I accidentally stepped off a cliff of unknown height at Topanga Canyon one dark night. By sheer luck, I caught a branch and hung over inky darkness staring out over a beautiful full moon over the ocean while my step-sister rand down to the bottom to try and help me gauge how far I was going to have to drop. The branch broke before she got there and I fell laughing a good 15' or so. Very fortunate me, I broke nothing besides the poor unsuspecting branch.

My son spiked a 104 fever, and had to have blood drawn form the side of his head. He was 4 months old.

Then, last year, my hubby was home on R & R, he was drinking his coffee, and started to choke. he forgot that the bread tie had fallen into his coffee. ER visit and they sucked his stomach. He spent 2 more days in the hospital.

Penni: When I saw my mother die. She died but she came back to life for 24 hours.

I almost died in my car. I was alone, it was very scary. I had a reaction to a medication. Sulfa antibiotics, I made it to the dinner I was supposed to be at and the teacher who had invited me followed me home. I barely even remember the whole night, but do remember the feeling of fear.
