I just NOW found out about this recal.

I really wonder how and when the FDA does these checks, and how good of a job they do.
Sorry you had e-coli!
I was sickened from mild case of Listeria monocytogenes, which was traced to iced tea-the iced tea machine's container was not properly cleaned.
I started a group for recalls, all are welcome to join me there:

I shop at Sams's and purchased both Topps, and now the Angus burgers, I like having them if my husband or I wants a burger for dinner and the other one wantes something different.
You are not paraniod J F! You are concerned as I am, no one wants to get sick!
I was at Walmart this afternoon and people were picking up Kraft products (they recalled white chocolate) and putting them down, none of this had to do with the recall. People were not buying meats at all.
I just joined your group. :)
We're big hamburger eaters too on Saturdays when my husband cooks..hah...but the last couple of weeks I didn't buy the meat (which is usually Topps)....guess I had an angel on my shoulder, huh?
;-)
I bought some hamburger a few years ago and couldn't believe all the bones that were still in there. Didn't notice it until I bit into it...GROSS! It's like someone is out to get us with the food recalls, toys, cribs, lettice and spinach what next?
We were going to go out to dinner tonight, and we changed our minds, now I know that is extreme, but we are both concerned.
Terri I think you definately had an angel on your shoulder ;-)
I ate no red meat, pork or chicken for almost three years, it was only when I was sick, and unable to cook I started eating those again. I think I may do that again.
I usually buy my meat from (1st) Whole Foods (yes I know costs a bit more), (2nd) Piblix.
Amy, Walmart's meat it is never touched by humans, oh no no wonder it looks like it does.
I purchased steak from them once a few years ago. I put it in my refigerator, the nest day I went to cook it it was all brown, I opened the package and eww it stank. So I returned it, the customer service person acted like it was no big deal.
These are what my family always swear by. Boy were we wrong! I mean they taste excellent. But not at the risk of getting sick or possibly dieing.
Thanks for posting this.
I liked the patties also since you could only cook 1 or 2 and they did taste great.
Sandy many of us were wrong.
I just heard that a banquet pot-pie was recalled.
