It's Yahoo!

Some of you may remember about a month ago that I complained that I was receiveing fewer and fewer notifications from Gather. Then the notifications stopped all together. I complained several times to Gather and never received a reply.

It ocurred to me yesterday (sometimes I'm a little slow) that, as IT manager for my company, I could create an email account on my server. WHAM! The floodgates opened and I got several thousand notifications (a total of 3800 in 24 hours). I turned on forwarding so that they would go to my Yahoo account. Zero in 24 hours.

Yahoo is blocking Gather notifications.

At least now I can receive notifications and get active again.

I noticed the problems with Yahoo as well, but I had actually become quite happy about not having my inbox flooded, so turned off the notifications.

Were Gathers reply in the mailbox?

They probably did that because of a gliche at Gather after the upgrade. I got over 6,000 emails at my Yahoo account that day. When I finally was able to get to my Gather account, I discovered that every box that could be checked was checked. Not something I would have done. I changed that and have no notifactions at all anymore.

I wrote Gather from 3 different accounts. I also wrote several articles, so I assume I would have gotten a response somewhere.

I'm now back to normal with my new mailbox. Getting about 150 an hour.

Rachel,

I was totally disappointed with her. Years of smoking have destroyed her voice. Compare the original version of "Clouds" with the one she released a couple of years ago.

I met her several times when we lived near each other in Connecticut. A wonderful woman who has, unfortunately, lost her voice (but not her talent).

I can't even get onto Yahoo...I wonder if they are having problems...It's almost like Boomertown...the system doesn't recognize the link to it...

I heard they are all upset about the volume of mail Gather sends. ( and proprams like gather.) I have shortened my send list because there is no way I am going to get to 1,000 or over pieces of mail each day any way.
