HOW TO MAKE SALSA
My friend Gail gave me a salsa master for my birthday. It's the most amazing gadget! It chops veggies in seconds. Fall is the perfect time of year to use one. I make FRESH salsa at least once a week and my family loves it. I've combined several recipes and come up with one of my own. Gail buys salsa masters at garage sales. Seems a lot of people buy them and NEVER use them and get rid of them for a buck or two. Silly them!
Ingredients:
4-5 large ripe tomatoes
1 green pepper
hot banana peppers, drained
1 white onion
1 can pitted ripe olives, drained
2-3 cloves garlic
fresh parsley or cilantro
juice of 1/2-1 lime
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. pepper
1 tsp. salt
Directions:
Wash all the ingredients and then start with the tomatoes. I cut them in quarters and add to my Salsa master. When I've finished chopping the tomatoes, I put them in a large bowl and set aside. Then I move on to the green pepper. I quarter it, chop it and add to the tomatoes. I continue doing this until I've chopped all the ingredients. Usually by this time, the family is standing around, Tostito chips in hand, ready to start tasting. You can make this as mild or hot as you want, depending on what you put in your salsa. I've never had left-overs, but if you do, store them in a glass jar with a good screw on lid.
Optional:
Sometimes I add the following:
1 can black beans, rinsed & drained
1 can whole kernel corn, drained
3 Tbsp. olive oil
1 tsp. vinegar
Add the beans and corn. Combine olive oil & vinegar and pour over the salsa. Serve with Tostitos. Be sure to refrigerate any left-overs.

My favorite part of making salsa is chopping the veggies in my salsa master. I should do a commercial if they ever bring those things back!
Thanks for your comments. I actually use fresh garlic as well as garlic powder but maybe I don't really need both. Maybe I should omit the garlic powder. Do you use olive oil and vinegar in your salsa? Man, you've got to try the salsa master. It's so much fun!!!
will try this one.
sounds good.
Here you are again! Thanks for stopping by. I want to make salsa today so I better get moving.
Thank you! It really is good!!
