Hush Puppies *recipe*

This is my Great Aunt Rose Gale's recipe. I like hush puppies way too much ;-) lol
My dad always fixed this recipe, when he had a fish fry.

HUSH PUPPIES

1 C. self-rising cornmeal
1 1/2 C. flour
1 T. finely chopped onion
1 C. cold water

Mix ingredients and let stand 5 minutes to raise. Then stir batter down and dip mixing spoon into hot deep fat fryer, drop by teaspoon into hot grease, immersing spoon each time.

Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
Makes 36

and here I though you would have to put eggs and milk in them! Hush Puppies are not big in New England, but I get them down herein the South at Long John Silver's and I love them
