This is my Great Aunt Rose Gale's recipe. I like hush puppies way too much ;-) lol
My dad always fixed this recipe, when he had a fish fry.
1 C. self-rising cornmeal
1 1/2 C. flour
1 T. finely chopped onion
1 C. cold water
Mix ingredients and let stand 5 minutes to raise. Then stir batter down and dip mixing spoon into hot deep fat fryer, drop by teaspoon into hot grease, immersing spoon each time.
Fry until golden brown. Drain on paper towel.
