"What's that I smell?" called Joshua.
"It's divine" said Joshua.
"Thanks! My friend gave me this cologne" said Donna.
Today Donna decided to walk down the Maine Street instead of her usual street. (Also) It had rained during the day, and since she had forgotten to bring a scarf for her hair, she was considering ducking under some of the awnings on Maine Street. Donna was sitting at the back of Joshua's motor scooter .They both were riding under a huge brown cotton umbrella. Donna saw Joshua on the red signal. Donna knew him only a little so she smiled at him. Joshua invited Donna to hop on his scooter and to give a ride home.
"You look so pretty when you wear this white straight skirt." said Joshua.
"When did you see me?" asked Donna rapidly.
"I have seen you often." Said Joshua.
Donna was in the air .Joshua was a very striking boy, good looking, sharp; sure...He knew how to enjoy fun.
"You can ride sidesaddle," suggested Joshua.
Still dreaming about the whole situation, Donna stepped over the water in the sputter and ducked under the black umbrella. With her Jean purse in one arm she balanced on the narrow passenger's seat behind Joshua.
"Hang on" directed Joshua.
Donna grasped the low handle in front of her. Just before the signal changed to red once more, Joshua started the scooter putting across the traffic circle. It all happened that fast, in the interval of one green light.
Donna shrieked. Her seat was more ambiguous than she expected, and she felt uneven riding sidesaddle with a load of purse and a book in one arm. The concrete flew underneath her in a damp black smudge that made her dizzy.
Joshua reached behind his back for Donna's hand, which he clasped and pulled around in front of him so that her arm was encompassing his waist." Donna don't be shy," he threw back over his shoulder." That grip is too low to be any good."
Donna was shy at having her arm around Joshua's waist, but there was nothing she could do about it and pressed her cheek against the umbrella handle at the back of his neck. Riding sidesaddle on a scooter through the streets of Bay view -it was crazy and was real fun...
Joshua was thanking to his scooter and that extremely heavenly rainy day. He wanted to hold Donna like this forever. His passions were growing high and now he wanted to slow down his scooter to share more romance with Donna.
"Donna, you are so good" confessed Joshua.
And Joshua swerved his scooter around a corner. Donna tried to hold back a little screech. She was definite that her purse and book is going to skate into the sewer. She seized the front of Joshua's jacket in her first.
Now they were acting out there sound track
On Track..It's my life"......their song
Funny how I find myself in love with you
If I could buy my reasoning I'd would pay to lose
One half won't do
I've asked myself
How much do you commit yourself?
It's my life
don't you forget
It's my life
It never ends
Joshua increased the speed and began to enter the scooter in curves, so that Donna swayed back and forth.
"Joshua!! Stop!" She pleaded.
"Getting nauseous?" he called over his shoulder.
"No, I just don't want to die young.
"You are much too beautiful for an early grave."
"Thanks devil" said Donna to the back of Joshua's neck.
"That's big of you."
"You're welcome honey," answered Joshua gladly.
Joshua stopped in front of her house and tippedlet Donna get off his scooter onto the curb.
"Whew!" Donna smiled at Joshua with the rain falling gently on her face. Joshua smiled at her from under his umbrella.
Stalling for time Donna said," at least I am still in one piece".
She wished she could ask him to come into the house, but she knew her mother was not at home.
"Well, Thanks for the ride Joshua," Donna said, because there was nothing else she could say.
"You're Welcome." Joshua grinned at her. I don't think you have something to eat in the house?"Donna was excited now and she took him to the steps as they both were dry now.
"Have a seat, "She said,' I will go and see what I can find."Joshua sat on the top step. She found a bag of corn chips and a soda can.
"Have some chips and Soda," she said cordially.
"Thanks," said Joshua and crunched in to the handful of corn chips.Donna didn't want him to go so soon but it look that Joshua was all set to move.
"I should leave now" said Joshua.
Donna couldn't reply."This was a lot better than eating a bag of French fries at any drugstore. "See you soon". With that Joshua fixed the umbrella handle down the back of his neck, mounted his scooter and was off down the hill with a wave and a back smile.
Donna watched the umbrella disappear around a bend in the road and, still smiling; she turned sadly and walked into the house.
Joshua, the last boy she had ever anticipated to notice her. She liked him. She really did. That was Joshua or the first beginning of love. She wondered what her father would think of him. Now she was thinking how her parents would consider about her riding around town on a motor scooter, but she swiftly dismissed this tiny worry. She was sure that if her elder sister could marry to someone she likes obviously she could have permission to ride on a scooter.
Donna came back to her room. She opened that perfume bottle, kissed and smelled it "I'm falling in love," she whispered to herself while sprinkling that perfume on her neck and enjoyed the magical expereince.
