Stormy Sunrise (Photo Essay) revised

This morning, for the first time in a couple of months, I awoke to storm clouds rather than sun. The air was cool and there was a very light mist in the air.t

As I began my morning walk, the sun was rising...but it was barely visible due to the dark clouds.

It was as if Heaven was trying to peek through

At times it seemed more like moon than sun, shining amidst the darkness.

and as it peeked through, I couldn't help but notice how beautiful the sky looked

as it continued its transformation from night to day, from storm clouds to sun.

Finally the sun broke through, and along with it, the promise of another beautiful day.

These connected with something wild and almost fearful in me. I wish I'd had a camera the other moning driving to work. A solid dark cloud cover broke into a flock of black sheep scattered over the Monterey Bay like they were grazing on a pewter field.

Great pics. Esp. the lamp post. It is like a symbol of something i can't quite decipher.
