Midnight and I watch over chestnut and orange gently on a pillow, rapt in brilliant lemon, viridian, vermillion and sage.
"periwinkle" She sighs in her sleep.
Black dogs answer, rolling on eiderdown.

My grandmother taught me that black dogs in dreams were referring to death.
and all the beautiful colours that you have painted here
Or maybe the dogs just woke you up last night, and you were struck by the colors?

Umar, In that case, I'm in big trouble! I'm on 5, 6, and 7 as far as black dogs go and they frequently violate nocturnal spirit boundaries!
Tom, are they mutually exclusive? Isn't it one task of poetry to wring the sublime and spiritual from the mundane? ;-)
