Gautami, I saw what you wrote in a gamer's article about so-called 'Gather Haters' and I have been meaning to drop you a note to tell you that you are my new Gather heroine! I like the way you have taken a stand, plus, allow me to mention that you said nothing in regards to sullying anyone's reputation and yet it seems as if you are being punished, which is too bad. Please note that sometimes when you take such a stand though that you create a lot more positive energy for yourself than any negative energy that can come from lower ratings.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Gautami. There are definitely several different circles here on Gather and conflict is always gonna arise. Having said thatm, there are also thos that live for such conflict...
Don't worry. They'll get bored and it will pass.

I'm sorry about this, Gautami. My advice is to ignore them and they will stop. It has happened to me before, and when I just ignored it, it went away. I do realize how upsetting it can be to work hard on a poem, only to have it rated low for no reason.

According to them, they are the only ones permitted the "freedom" to write as they wish. Dont let it get you down. You contribute wonderful things here and your real friends dont trash you. Ignore them.

Guatami, thank you for taking a stand. They've done the same to me (and many others) for months. I can tell you from experience that ignoring them doesn't help. They multiply like rabbits (or cliche spouting dumb bunnies). As long as Gather is satisfied that their "highest rated" list reflects NOTHING to attract intelligent members, and the few who are left are silenced by low ratings, nothing will change. I appreciate you for speaking your mind.

Ok, honestly - I don't see why someone would run around lowrating you for that. It's hardly flaming anyone or anything. I've seen stranger posts, too. Tempest in a teapot, bizarre thing to freak out over if this really is why somebody got their undies in a knot and lowrated you. Who can tell with the braintrusts who think lowrating makes some kind of payback, though.
