Fall is my favorite season. I feel the air getting cool and the leaves changing colors and falling to the ground. I listen to the breeze at it ruffles through the tree's and I watch the clouds moving in the sky ... it just sets my mind at ease. I gives me time to reflect. Just like nature is changing and finishing out a the year so am I. So with all the calmness around me It gives me time to think.
I was thinking about all the blessings in my life and about the changes yet to come. I can't help but be excited ... you see this month Habitat for Humanity is building me my kids our first house. I am looking forward to knowing were finally going to be living in something we own. I am looking forward to cookouts in the back yard, raking leaves in the fall, planting gardens and flowers and all those wonderful things. Just sitting here with all the calm outside surrounding me it just makes me appreciate some of the smaller things.
To some a garden may seem simple or small ... or be just insignificant. To me and my kids it is something we long for something we do together and it means a great deal. To my kids and I this house is going to be our home .. somewhere safe that they can always go. It will give them a sense of security and comfort. I can't wait until they have this. The kids are excited were going to have a yard and a porch. The older two are going to have their own rooms .. which is something they have never had before. So this is pretty exciting for us.
For once we can paint and change things around how we want them. For once we can come home to OUR home. No more landlords ... no more rules. My kids can have their animals and not have to worried some landlord is going to come and change his mind about us having pets. This house is like the fall season to us .. we are shedding off our leaves .. and growing back new :)
