"Wicked"- Gregory Maguire

Ok I just started this book and I have to say it's interesting... not my usual pick but hey I'm still in the sci-fi genere... LOL... The thing the intrigues me the most about this book was... The title "Wicked- The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West" And wouldn't ya know... It's based in OZ... LOL... I know this isn't a new book... I think the publish date was 1995 but I just happened to run across a hardback copy... I am building a sci-fi library... So I picked it up and started skimming the pages and read the dust jacket... I was tickled pink by the basis of this story and after the first few pages I was hooked... I haven't made it far yet but I like to post a few articles to tell how the book is progressing... I don't like reviews who say this book ended amazingly and forget to tell you it had a VERY slow start (LA BANKS MINION)... Or compare the book to other authors with only a 3 chapter start... O and another interesting fact... First male author I've read in a while... Noticing subtle differences already... LOL

I hope you enjoy the book more than I did. I found it lacking in a lot of areas and while it wasn't a bad book, I thought it was overrated. Perhaps I listened to too much of the hype about it.

I've really like it so far... It's been interesting... I prefer a more feminine style but like I said I like it...

I have seen it in the book store and thought about buying it sounds like it might be a good one for me. I was thinking of taking my mom to the musical it is playing in LA only 2 hrs from me!!! It has been getting good reviews.

I also was interested in this book and thought it was interesting because of its topic and the fact they deemed it worthy to be made into a musical.

This was the first of his books I read, and I enjoyed it most of all of them. I'd be interested to hear what you think when you finish.

I think this book has an overrated following. I like it enough but it isn't the read I thought it was going to be. I am 1/3rd of the way through. Can't wait to read the rest of this authors books. I have them all and are just now getting to read them.
