My letter in the mail

Ok you guys want a small laugh....I am currently back in college part time to get my AA degree and evenutally my BA.  I am taking 2 classes at a time because that's all I can do with the kids and the house and volunteering at the school and stuff. Going back to college was something I have ALWAYS wanted  to do.........Well,  lo and behold I got a letter in the mail on Saturday inviting ME(39yr old mom of 3) to join Phi Theta Kappa, the National Honor Society of two-year colleges. It says "Your outstanding academic record makes you eligible for membership."  How cool is that!!!

So not only am I a college student, but one with academic excellence AND soon to be sorority girl.  LOL

I think it is a hoot and just might join to be able to say I was a sorority girl in college!!!

Life is too funny sometimes.........LOL

Thanks guys. No gimmicks. The letter is from my college and they are holding an induction ceremony. Membership is $60.00, a one time fee. I can then attend the dinner after the ceremony for $12.00 a person. I think I will just join and skip the dinner. Members of the sorority will be eligible to wear a special golden stole and tassel at graduation..whoo hoo...LOL I'm gonna do it just for the special tassel.

College is great. I went back after having 2 kids. It was hard but it's worth it. I got that letter to join the sorority when I was in school too. I didn't join, but I did graduate with honors. It's a great feeling. Keep up the good work!

Go for it. Just stay away from those frat boys. Well, some of them...the others you might be able to help out with advice or something. Seriously, when my son was in school and I visited, some of those guys asked my advice or treated me like their "mom away from home". Not that I'm suggesting you'd be interested in that.

Yeah I am old enough to be the mom to these kids. My daughter is almost 17. Maybe I will find her an upcoming ambitious young man, in his first year of college.
