where does happiness lie?is it in the bright blue sky?
perhaps it's a baby's smile?
or a bride walking the aisle?
where does happiness stay?
is it found when children play?
perhaps it's in a lovers' kiss?
or when nothing goes amiss?
where does happiness wander?
is it in the minds that ponder?
perhaps it's from up above?
or found in a parents' love?
from where does happiness quickly flee?
is it from one who causes pain with glee?
perhaps from those who give up?
or from those with an empty cup?
from where does happiness run away?
is it from those who doubt it will stay?
perhaps from the mourners' heart?
or from the one with an awful start?
how can we make happiness ours?
is it by wishing on shooting stars?
perhaps by loving those we know?
or playing like children in the snow?
what do we do when happiness disappears?
is it found in the memories of happier years?
perhaps in the warmth of hugs and kisses?
or thinking of a future filled with happiness?
