Po Ino Nogar is popularly know as a Cambodian deity, and secondarily as a Vietnamese deity, but in fact she was original a Cham deity. The people of Champa was lived in what is now Central Vietnam dispersed to Aceh (Sumatra), Malaya, Thailand, and Cambodia was well as into the highlands and southern Mekong delta was the Vietnamese moved south from the Red River starting about 1,000 years ago. Po Ino Nogar was the principal deity of the southern Cham who lived in what is now Phu Yen, Nha Trang and Binh/Ninh Thuan provinces. She was carried with the Cham when they moved in to Cambodia and was borrowed by or merged with similar Vietnamese female deities. I am a Champa specialist in my spare time.
