A dog (and other carnivores) has 2 times the stomach acid (to break down the meat) and 1/3 the intestines (to expel the meat before it has a chance to putrefy).
Yes, meat rots inside you. It stay too long and so starts to becomes a burden on your liver.
We aren't 100 percent herbivores, though. Meat has been such a part of our history that our appendix has atrophied. It was once an organ to ferment grass (like a bunny rabbit has). So we can't live on the lawn - alas.
Eat beans!

Though I'm into more chicken and fish than I used to be. Sunday is still a bacon and egg day. I'm a happy omnivore.
You go Peter well win em over !!!!!!!!!
I am going to try and completely block this whole thing from my memory!! ha ha ha
Fiber can kill me - fiber can block me up (call the rotor rooter) - so fruit, vegetables, whole grains, etc. have to be closely monitored.
As I am also diabetic *sigh* - everything else can kill me!!! Well not really, but sometimes it sure feels that way.
Thanks for all the great information here.
By the way some fruits, veggies, etc. are even more undigestable than meat. The proof is in what come out the other end of the digestive tract.
