I have lovely perennial gardens that bring much pleasure to my life. I work hard in the spring hauling manure, turning the soil to provide the needed nitrogen to the seeds down below. I am rewarded throughout the growing season with beautiful flowers...Siberian irises, daffadils and purple crocuses come in early...followed by creeping and garden phlox, bee balm, catmint, blazing stars, and day lillies. Long about the end of July I notice small little green plants, self-seeded growing everywhere....and think to myself, "Should I "delete" them now or should I let them thrive. I know by September they will be tall and add much color to all the gardens...and so despite the fact they are invasive, I choose to let them be. Comments on Gather, like my cleomies, should not be deleted....they add an array of color and perspective to the ideas put forth in the articles.
What do you think...would you have deleted them and missed their beautiful blossoms?
