SO WHAT'S YOUR FAVORITE "SEASON"? ~ Deb J. ~

So what is your favorite season of the year?  Spring, summer, fall or winter?  And also why is your favorite season what it is?  Do you have any sentimental memories that make it the "fav"? 

Mine always used to be the fall because that was the start of all the winter holidays, such as Halloween, then Thanksgiving and then Christmas, of course.  I don't know though ~ my love of fall really started when I was quite young.  Not even in my teens.  I used to walk to a woods down the road from where I lived and I would sit down under this huge tree and watch the leaves and relax and watch for the quail and pheasants and turkeys, along with the squirrells and an occcasional deer come wandering along.  It gave me such a sense of peace, as I grew up in a very chaotic environment.  It was a way of escape for me.  I remember those feelings so well.

So what is "your" favorite season and do you have any sentimental reasons why or just plain love the "chill" and those beautiful falling colored leaves with the promise of winter on the way and the heat heading south.

I like them all for different reasons but if i had to pick a favorite then it's definitely the fall. The turning leaves set the hill ablaze in color and the smells are earthy and it's not too hot most of the time like it can get in summer and it's not too cold either--i like not having to run the ac all the time or the heater .

Even though Spring seems to be getting shorter and shorter, it is my favorite, not too hot and winter is out the door.
I was going to say simmummum because I like the flavor. I don't really have a favorite time of year as each offers it own rewards.

For me it has changed. When I lived in the northeast it was Spring when it would start to warm after the long winter.
Now in the South, it is the Fall when it starts to cool down from the heat of Summer.

I love Fall when it first start getting cool and you can open all the windows and doors and let the fresh air in and let the breezes blow all the cooking odors and other things that accumulate when you have everything shut up in the summer to run the air conditioners to cool. It is so hot in Texas and humid too, you almost have to have the air to breath.

With all the rain we have had this year, the ground is wet and moldey, it dont even smell good outdoors like it did when I was young. This is out in the country where you should smell nothing but freshness when you walk out the door, ;but all mold and mildew makes it hard to breath and it smells awful.

We are kind of having an Indian Summer here. The temps get up in the 50's-80's and down to the 30's or 40's at night! Well, at least my A/C bill might go down a little bit!! I'm a real A/C nut! I used to be just the opposite!!

Fall. It's cool enough that I'm not sweating my @$$ off on a daily basis at work, football season starts, the beautiful way that leaves change colors, the festive vibe in the air from Halloween through Thanksgiving (and the anticipation of Christmas coming soon,) and the list goes on. Fall is definitely my favorite season.

I adore Autumn! September, October, November, when the weather starts to cool back to comfortable temps in the day and chilly nights. Wonderful colors. The sounds of the night critters. It's so peaceful. And the light is so beautiful. The sky is bluer now than it has been all Summer. Okay, I'll stop. I'm blathering.

I love fall, too. And actually, it's just for the gorgeous weather! :) The holidays stress me out, so I'm definitely not looking forward to those... and in the spring, all you have to look forward to from there is heat and humidity!
But, I loved traveling to Colorado last weekend -- so fall weather, it is.

I love Spring too, when the pollen dont make me sick. I guess I just hate to see all that yellow stuff floating through the air. It makes me so sick. But the season itself is beautiful, time to start planting all the wonderful veggies, to enjoy all year.

Fall is my favorite season -- has been for quite a while. I suspect I would have said summer as a kid because of being out of school, but as an adult I like Fall :-)

Fall is mine, because I hate the heat, I don't even mind the winter now that I don't have to drive in it, just sit inside and watch the snow fall and love it and cosy up on Gather, or a good book or read, or something like that, but we have a nip here tonight, and driving home today I saw the very first tinges of color on the trees, because it has kept quite warm, I wonder if the leaves will be off by Halloween this year as it usually is, because it doesn't seem as though they are even starting to fall yet. And this is October, yes indeed, it is, September is over.

I have always loved Fall the best. I remember taking walks and finding leaves to press in books. I loved the chill in the air too. I am really missing the change of seasons this year.

It has been a nice day here in Texas, Hope it stays that way, I could even turn off the a/c for an hour saving a few pennies.

I have to say Fall, it sems to have a calming affect on me, I like the cooler temperatures. I am hoping for a lot of snow this winter.

I absolutely LOVE October for the Fall reasons. We have a small woods on the back of our property and I love watching the trees turn and watching the leaves fall as I'm sitting outside with the wind in my hair and on my face. I love our temps during the fall. Never hotter then 80's, usually and not any colder then 50's at night. I love being able to turn off the central air and opening the windows. I only have one thing I hate about Fall and that is the danged bees are awful during this time!

I love winters coz my skin is not summer friendly..I lose my make up fast in summers or in any other season but winter is Kool...

Coming home yesterday across Washington State, I got to see a lot of fall colors in the Cascade Mountains. I enjoy the changing of the leaves but in reality would rather have spring with the trees all turning green. I just hate having to drive in the snow and somehow, I just KNOW that is what comes after fall.

Even though I love Fall, October is the month I really dont like. Did you say it was National Mental Health Month??? I usually need a Phycarist that month. It is the month I have nothing but bad memories. Today is the day I lost my Dad and I am a basket case as usual.

I have the pleasure to announce that Fall is finally here in Wappingers Falls, NY, I have closed my windows, turned the fans off, no AC, and the heat has been turned on in the apartments, I am cozy and warm, and not sticky and hot. thanks for your comments Deb., lol

I think I like spring the best. Planting flowers and getting the vegetable garden ready and the birds sing with all their hearts. Not too hot, not too cold. It's a wonderful timeof year to me.

Fall is my favorite season. Halloween is my birthday~ =)
Not just that, lol. I like the cooler air. The colors of the trees. Making the mountains around look like a patch work quilt.

I love them all but winter is my favorite. It is the season where I don't have to work ( I paint on slate). Sales are down, the tourists arn't around and it's time for me to read, relax, travel to warm and sandy, ski (I buy a pass) and just play. Christmas is always fun too.

Here in Wisconsin and growing up here I have always loved Fall, but the strange thing here in the past years is that it has gotten so winding (my ghost I had hanging blew away somewhere lol) and our leaves don't last long enough to get that enjoyable ahhhhhhhhhhhhh. Only time I get the smell of fall is when a farmer is burning leaves. Strange.
I still love fall, but Spring is starting to turn my head a bit more these days. I do container gardening now and I love planting strange stuff...(yes corn can grow in containers and you can get corn off of them)

Okay, now its getting to be like I want it. Still getting warm enough to walk outside and cool enough to save on that high energy bill. Turn off the air conditioners. Yes in the summer sometimes I have to run more than one.

definitely spring and fall. Spring is the beginning of new life, and I like the climate, not to hot or cold, Fall is beautiful as well! I love all the colors and the climate. Winter is not that bad either. I rather have it be cold than hot. I love to cuddle up close together with my husband on those cold winter nights! They're all great. I'm not sure I could pick a favorite. Spring is great because everything starts turning green again and the sun starts to shine and the temperatures begin picking back up and the birds begin to sing. It brings me up after the long winter. Summer is awesome because kids are out of school and you have more leisure time, the weather is great and you can go to the beach. Autumn is cool because you can wear jeans and a flannel shirt and play in the leaves and it's so pretty. Winter is nice because there's snow to play in.

I love the sunshine, warm sun and the outdoors. So, I have to say Spring and Summer. I don't like being trapped indoors and I don't like being cold. Now, my hubby's job has landed us in a place where I will learn to endure both... ack ack ack.

Spring and Fall probably. Don't like it too hot but I love the beach, water, and of course the woods. Love to see nature at it's finest. All in bloom and then the changing of the season in the fall. Such beautiful colors. Love the outdoors but not the cold!

It has just gotten cold here. It has been from 60 to 48% which is Winter in Texas LOL. Just letting you know I had not forgotten you today. I was just a week behind and couldnt catch up. Still four days behind answering email. I was going to ask you to post a one hour chat session and invite all of us to it. Wish I could get William to give me a way to pay back the 500 comments I owe him. That is something I will never get accomplished.

Well Deb, it is really pretty outside today. Still weird inside. Too hot in front of the heater and to cold in the other parts of the house. Probably just right on the front porch. LOL. You have to open and shut doors inside to climatize my house.
