Dropped Connection
Dang! Gather drops the connection after almost every comment or click to a new article or photo ...
And now it won't upload images to an article again!!!
Don't you just love the upgrades?!?!?

but I'm not following what that has to do with the gather system ... ???
My sisters Romance Entry. Help me support her.
Mr. Bill,
I haven't published anything since the middle of September, I "think", as the publishing tools here take so long to load that I end up giving up and saying to heck with it. I agree with the beta tester idea too, as it seems as if every (I hate to say this) upgrade, brings more of a mess. Hey, now everyone can run around deleting the comments that they don't like on their articles though. Wow, what a great idea/NOT!
Outside of Vegas we use rabbit ears and tinfoil,
and even with the high priced Reynolds Wrap
you are doing good to get 3 channels ... (-;
My general connection is wireless ... completely wireless! no cable, no dsl.
When gather drops the connection I know it is gather because I run a
test on another site and it is good and typically very fast to load, or I'll
check my email and it runs through just fine.
and has gotten really bad the past hour.
But truthfully, I don't hear anyone around these parts talking about the show.
... maybe they're too busy watching oprah and Jerry Spriger ...
I heard there's still glitches out. Some can't access the My Gather page and my mom still can't post images since the LAST update (not the one last night - the one before that)
Otherwise, I guess your SOL! ; ^)
It's not something I really needed.
Over the time I have been on Gather, I would say there is one or two comments a month that I really did not like having posted on my article or photo. I took care of most of them by just emailing the person that posted the comment and asking them to remove it. Only one person(a guide) did not remove their comments when I asked them. In that one instance I just deleted the whole article. I did expect to use it very much. People need to be able to speak their minds, and some of them will never see things the way I do, and that is OK. The one or two per month that get out of hand, I'll continue to ask them to remove the comment, they are free to revise it since it is usually an issue of language that could get the whole article flagged and removed.
If you read some of the comments, there are people who cannot
publish since that Aug upgrade and yesterday's upgrade did not
change that for them. How much patience should members have
to extend, when they cannot use primary features of the site?

Oh, and don't feel bad, we have no cable here either, Mr. Bill... and no wireless either! (We barely have a phone line...)
:^s
... well ... at least in my book! (-;
Seriously though, you are the only one I know still afflicted with that malady. What happens if you click on the area where the thumbnail is supposed to be? Does the image launch?
The First/Prev/Next mess is inexcusable. We can filter and sort our connection's articles in the "For Me" section by date, but not our own content??? Someone in development can't even think outside the litter box on this issue!
Today it's been very slow for me...doesnt mean its not me though
