Is it possible they are among those leaving Gather?

I think I've only removed 3 connections in the year I've been here. Once was due to a lack of interest in the person's content (having them as a connection won't benefit either of us in that situation) once because I was not impressed with the other's content that was of a borderline adult nature and something I'm not interested in seeing on Gather. The last was because they basically left Gather. Deleted all content and was not publishing anything new.

I suppose some need to cut back on connections due to time. Try not to take it personally. I've been dropped by some as well.

Many are leaving, some are weeding out those they joined with hoping only to increase their own readership, and, from articles I've seen popping up, a few others are trimming down their connections feeling they have too many, and it's a simple case of whether they feel they've come to know you or not.

I've only removed two connections and I've been here over a year. My problem is just that I never seem to have enough time, or maybe I'm just making excuses. I think I just come from a family where, whatever you do, it's just never good enough. So that probably holds me back. I'll try to spend more time here in the future -- it's good for the soul, and you can count on me! Thanks for posting this.

I am more likely to keep connections if I get some reciprocity (they actually read one of my articles once in a while and bother to comment) or am not overwhelmed with too many articles from that connection.

News to me, Sandra. I know one person yesterday was discovered to have NOTHING posted that was original, all taken from the web and passed off as his own, but he's still there, just his articles are gone.

I don't drop connections either. I may not get to read all of their stuff but I like the way it pops up on my homepage so I can grab it as I fly by.

I love your morning postings. You could try commenting more on other people's content.
The people I drop either clog my articles for me page with stuff I'm not interested in, or made comments that I thought were not nice, or never comment on my stuff. But I would never drop you. You're one of my favorite.
