What is chocolate- flavored and vanilla flavored confectioners' coating? More importantly, where can I buy it and in what aisle? Thanks for any help. I need this stuff for recipes I want to make. Thanks Casey

My sisters Romance Entry. Help me support her.
Confectioner's sugar is powdered sugar.
Two very different products, too bad the name is so close!
1/2 cup peanut butter
3 tablespoons margarine or butter, softened
1 cup sifted powdered sugar
8 ounces chocolate-flavored confectioners' coating
Stir together peanut butter and margarine. Gradually add sugar, stirring till combined. Shape into 1-inch balls; place on waxed paper. Let stand till dry(about 20 minutes.) Good Luck Casey hope it turns out.

Confectioners coating is available, pre-packaged, in most grocery stores in the baking aisle as Almond Bark almost always available in vanilla and, in some stores, in chocolate. Some stores also have prepackaged bags of chips (actually the disks that Jules mentioned) in both chocolate and vanilla and, yes, this is the same product you will find labeled as 'candy melts'.
If you'd like a better quality coating, however (both for flavor and consistency) look for a store in your area that sells candy supplies (one that offers food products and not a general craft store). You can find high grade chocolate and vanilla 'chips' (they are slightly smaller than a nickel) and can order them in whatever quanity you need 1/2 pound, 5 pounds, even ten or twenty! The only problem I've ever encountered in doing it this way is that I always wind up spending so much more time browsing (I also like to get bulk spices this way) and money (the aforementioned spices as well as countless other candy and baking supplies and foodstuffs). If you can't find one in your area, there is a terrific one in my part of the world, Nuts'N'Stuff, that has a website and they will ship to you. You can contact them at: info@nutsnstuff.com for more information.
