"Personal" Gather Relationships?

How many of you have more personal relationships with your Gather connections than just what you do at Gather? By that I mean that I know many of us have family or friends from our real lives, but I have also noticed many forge relationships with people from Gather that are more personal in nature. So, by a show of hands, is that you? I find Gather an amazing place to meet virtual friends, etc....but besides people I already know, have not gone that extra step. I would love to hear about the rest of you !

I have made a few friendships but none that are extremely personal.

I have a few cyber friends, but not overly personal.

off gather, on another site I did meet a extremely good friend..we joke that we were lucky..you have to be careful.

I have made some very strong friendships with people I have met online... some I haven't met yet... but would love to

Have had the opportunity to meet others that I first met online; that is always a cool thing :)

There are a few people on Gather I'd love to meet in person and if any of them lived closer I wouldn't hesitate to do so.

I feel the same as Andrea. Especially about 3 different people here on Gather that are just totally sweet! I mean like people that make a difference in your life by their attitude. Make you feel like a better person!
I'd love to meet some people I know here.
BTW, I subscribe to a music mailing list about blues in my area. I've met a lot of the people I know from the list. I've made RW friends as a result.

My son and his girlfriend are on Gather, and are the ones who brought me to Gather. Aside from them, I am friends with several people I would love to meet in person. I have spoken on the phone before to one of Gather's wonderful artists and a friend....who sent me one of his lovely paintings. I have also spoken on the phone to several other Gather friends....but never met in person...YET...:)

Nothing terribly personal aside from my family here. I do have friends that I know from other places online here that I do feel a bit closer to just because we share a few interests that are the same as each.

I have to say that at least half a dozen people come to mid that I would love to connect with in real life. Maybe a lunch during a road trip, even. You pick up a lot of a person's personality through how and what they write, but to be able to put a live person instead of an icon in your brain while you are reading would be super cool. I already told Peter that if I ever drove through Minnesota he would have to meet me long enough to autograph my copy of his book!

There are a couple of people on here I would like to meet. But it's nothing serious, what they write I find special and think they would be great friends.
