I do the same with the organic version. Some hints at: Time to spring clean your brain
Either way, to some extent, mofe is better. check with the specs on your motherboard or computer to see how much RAM (memory) it can handle, if you need processing space, like for large photohop projects, or hard drive space, which you can add internally or externally. I think an external Terabyte drive (1000 GB) is only about $400-500 these days.
when it comes to RAM, get as much as your machine can take, I myself wouldn't go with less than one gigabyte of RAM, at least have 512mb if not 1gb.
As for your hard drive, again buy as big as you can afford and your machine can handle.
If you are looking for increased storage space on a hard drive for videos and pictures you might want to consider an external usb ported hard drive, best buy has a 250gb one for under 70 dollars and a 1Terabyte external hard drive for $305 made by Hitachi.
A good thing about a USB external hard drive is that is goes with you anywhere.
Hope that helps.
a cool "NERD" who would come and UPGRADE........i pay off in GREAT food if you happen to know of a hungry nerd???
I also have 2 hard drives 180GB each, setup as a mirror RAID (RAID1, data is being written on both drives, same locations) so if I lose one drive I still have my data on the other.
My file server where I have all my work, virtual machines, media and other stuff is a 1.6TB (yes, slightly over 1600GB) in RAID5.
I would buy a 500GB drive, it's probably the best price per GB. Do you research and you'll find the one you want. I can recommend a few sites I routinely buy my stuff from if you send me an email.
Pictures, mp3s, videos and files don't really do anything to memory, they are more about how big your hard drive is and how much space it has to store things. The bigger your hard drive is, the more you can store on it.
Memory is more about how many programs can be running at once on your computer without it slowing down...there's ways to turn off things that run on your computer that eat your memory up too.
My name is Bennett and I ain't in it.
Too much memory for me to remember.
Hope that helps!
