Jena Six....

i was just woundering if any of ya'll have been keeping up w/the jena six story...... Where learning about it in my ap government class and i was just woundering what your thoughts where about it.... b/c one of the jena six people got out on bail today his name is micheal bell. but he still faces juvinule charges they just dropped him from adult charges to juvinile......and rev.Al Sharpton was there to have his supporter's to help protest against the unsual punishment toward the young 6 kids..... but in my opioin those 6 kids have all the jail time coming to them that they deserve for what they did to that white boy.... what our your opioin's on the matter.....

I never heard the story however, I do believe punishment should fit the crime. Adult crime committed then adult crime punishmnet. I have a minor in crimminal justice so maybe my opinion is biased.

I have been keeping up with the story. I watched an episode of the "Dr. Phil" show yesterday that was about the situation. I personally feel that, from everything I've read and heard, the 6 boys were punished more than they should have been. Yes they need to have something happen to them for what they did, but they need to be treated the same as the whites. It's really too bad they had to do what they did to Justin Barker, but that doesn't give the law the right to punish them in an extreme manner.
