I go through "poetry passion" now and then. I'll write until my fingers are numb (or my vision blurs.)
My posts will usually be free form or Haiku.
It's almost October, let's see what trouble we can find.
Trick or Treat, my love
I have come to set you free
Rise from your coffin
Party for goblins
This cool October evening
Cemetery fun
Dogs run free in fall
Leaves rustle under their feet
Canines in crisp air
Okay, you in the mood for autumn yet?

the dead pass our names from
mouth to dirt filled mouth
all hallows eve:
a soul peers out
of its ribcage
October:
Black paper cats
follow children home
October:
witches harvest
candy corn
Super verses.
Very creative, you are.
Lea's are more familiar and comfortable - dogs running through leaves, Halloween parties...
Bret's are darker, at least the first couple. "...mouth to dirt filled mouth..." (Shiver...) But I like a good shiver.
Well done to both. I'll have to see if I can find my poetry voice this week. Sometimes it avoids me for days on end.
NOW I'm in the mood for Halloween!
I'm so glad you're lurking and commenting on my stuff. You crack me up.
And I'm surprised every freakin' time.

for a gut shot deer
grey October sea:
a drowned boater
bobs toward shore
LOVE the second one.
