R: Review of Evan Almighty

Right or wrong, my husband and I were extremely
reluctant to go see this movie.  We never watched "Bruce Almighty" as we were
responding to the preveiws that we had seen.  But there came a night where we
really wanted to see a movie together, but there wasn't anything on but this.  We
readily gave in to seeing it.  I have to say that we were pleasantly surprised by it.
Riotous laughter occurred during several scenes.  It was a
relatively enjoyable movie for us.  Certainly you shouldn't
raise your kids to believe that Morgan Freeman is God (nor should you think it yourself) or
receive theology lessons from this movie.  If, however, you
realize this, there is so much that you can enjoy about this movie.  I never
realized the enormity of the task that was put before Moses.  The sheer
reams of animals following Evan around was too much to think about. I also found the
reminder of God's power refreshing to my spiritual walk.  I
really have never laughed at a movie as much as I did this one. 
Rest assured, if you haven't seen the movie, I will
reveal the scene that you need to look out for. It was hilarious.  I won't
reveal too much, but let me say it involved an aquarium of fish.

It was dull and the jokes were sophomoric. Ugh. If I have to see Morgan Freeman as god one more time, I'll think I'll shoot a casting director. He must be getting sick of playing such parts by now. Free Morgan from stereotypical parts!

We liked Bruce Almighty. Any movie that brings God into the forefront, is good. The talk of it, and viewing what God must be thinking might actually give someone food for thought on the spiritual journey. I haven't seem Evan Almighty, but I want to.

I haven't seen Evan Almighty yet, but I want to. I thought Bruce Almighty was HILARIOUS.
We never saw Bruce Almighty but my husband and I loved Evan Almighty.
It was fun and it had great Christian life lessons in it too.
I saw this movie. I thought it wasn't even close to comparasion with Bruce Almighty. Buty the movie did have it's perks. There were monets when I could not control my laughter. I like both of these movies. I feel someone is trying to tell us that religion does have a humorous side.

Really haven't seen it yet. Rarely do I go to the movies\. I'd Rather Rent it for two dollars and Return it. rather quick.

This was a great movie. I saw Bruce Almighty and hated it. But this was good. I worried before I saw it how they would explain/justify having flooding, since the great flood was supposed to be the last time God sent floods like that. But the movie explained that perfectly. I was impressed.

Our church is one of thousands involved with ArkAlmighty.com. Check that out. There are some Evan Almighty trailers there. Plus this ministry is explained. Basically, it's what the movie was about - people helping people. Pretty simple concept and ministry.
