Just taking a moment to step away from my somewhat daunting inbox... to think random thoughts. Out loud. On the Internet. Join me!
I don't wanna get over... sweetest hangover...Hey, what's up with Diana Ross? I recently heard "Love Hangover" and just got to wondering. She never calls, never writes. Wasn't she supposed to tour this year? Did I blink & miss it?
Hmmm. *spins the random thought wheel* Cowboys. So I saw the new 3:10 to Yuma, not out of duty but because I wanted to see it. In fact, I was the one draggin' the posse. The trailer looked good in that deep-honor+tension drama set against the vastness of the West way... and it didn't disappoint. It wasn't the greatest recent western ever and it wasn't bad, and I thoroughly enjoyed it for the based-on-a-short-story-by-Elmore Leonard boy bonbon that it was. Something in it reminded me of a chick flick. There's the unlikely friendship, the emotional confessions, Russell Crowe suavely (and manipulatively) sweet-talking to women in period costumes. Seriously, I haven't heard such embarrassingly effective talk since Remy McSwain. Who doesn't love when a movie bad guy is scariest when he's making conversation? Maybe I should write a full review. And now I need to see the original movie again, preferably in a shabbily furnished rec room on a rainy Saturday afternoon. Who's got the Jiffy Pop?
Last weekend I went (car) camping and my jacket still smells a little like woodsmoke. I had to wear a different one to work because the scent made me want to get out of town all over again.
Share your random thoughts or mock mine. No matter to me t'day!

(hey, i was CLEAN! the showers were great at the campsite!) and realized i may
have spent just a "little" too much time at the campfire when other shoppers started
sniffing, looking around....one said she smelled fresh pine burning and from there, we had a small panic, as folks thought the store had a FIRE!!!! Wow, who KNEW how
a COAT could pick up such odors? was i embarrassed!!!!!
Bet you had a great time, camping out that long!

Hey Ponce, how the heck are you?
Stevie is beer on your mind or is your mind on beer?
That's an interesting question, Ponce. My theory is the writers themselves always had the giggles, and realized they were pulling one over on the world. We were just lucky to laugh along... Who were the guests that first season? Any standouts?
I can dig hippies. You're probably right Frick. At the very least we can suspect it was a ... "creative" place to work. Any ETA on that DVD?
"Giggles" wasn't meant to be a code work, Ponce but hey if you're down with the lingo...
That reminds me......note to self...........once the vinyl stops melting.........
Finish up the "Don't Drop the Brown Acid" CD mix for the Tarts.........
I can't decide if butterball puppies are cuter than triangle-tailed kittens.
September smells nice.
My flowers and vines have gone officially crayzeeeee.
I've always wanted to have either raven black hair or auburn hair. Rats.

Unfortunately, all I know of it is:
Big girls don't cry!
They don't CRYEEYIGHYIGH!!
Over and over and over in my head, sung outloud (to the consternation of my cat). It was hawwwrible I tell ya!
Oh heavens, this weekend - aside from attending a wedding - I'm in the garage. No worries, it is where I love to be. But dang, that sounds like fun. You gals are a hoot and a half.
How long will OTBro stay?
England! Lucky indeed.
Me? Digital photos? Ahahahaha! I have a camera FULL of pictures that have been waiting for uploading for weeks. I need Onie to do it for me, 'cos I don't know how, plus I don't have the interwebs at home. It'll be a looooong time before you guys see pictures of my gardens. I'm sorry!
What the??? The GARAGE? Is it the Big Cleanup before winter hits? Um, I started doing that a couple weeks back and didn't get very far. Maybe you'll inspire me.
More random thoughts...
I think it's neat that everyone has different talents. Some have a natural talent for languages. Others for music. Some have green thumbs. Some folks can sew and knit. Some catch onto math easily. (Oh gawd, I'm breaking out in hives now, thinking of math! Ooooooh!) Anyway, it makes for an interesting world.
The garage needs a little straightening up due to the season change, true, but not much. I don't like us to keep too much in it, so a couple times a year I get out there to fight "tool creep." The big chunk of (what they call) work (and what I call relaxing) is moving the firewood rack out to the spot the tomatoes used to live and a little vehicle washin'. The rest is much longed-for puttering about. It might be silly, but I love to stand in the garage for a minute or two after it's been set for a new season and swept out.
Aw, you had sweet random thoughts and all I could come up with was a movie remake. Sigh.
KARE 11's use of my song "Rivertown" on their newcasts and a few other radio plays for my other songs. Happy Camper here...........

They were hot wheels, man.
Well, technically, they are still hot.
I have a pantload of paperwork to do to get the burglary settled...fun stuff.
Also, last weekend I had a WW2 event in Rockford, IL that was a major hit with the public there. We had 740 re-enactors there and about 6k paying visitors there.
Slept in a small pup-tent, dug a foxhole for the folks and attended a Swing dance...I ended up mostly dancing with guys I knew...for the comedic value.
Bought a cute yellow Beetle for my daughter to drive when she turns 16.
Um, I think that's it for now.
Oh, yeah - "Kelly's Heroes" and "Where Eagles Dare" is on TCM tonight...they are pretty good, fun WW2 movies.
:D
Ah, it's OK...heck, I was slow-dancing with a bunch of guys in WW2 uniforms a few days ago.
Hee hee! I have the best Hootennany gift for some lucky Post Tart! Hee hee!
Man hugs? Oh man, that's awesome!
They took ALL my bike stuff, too - even my smelly 9 year old shoes. I'll get reimbursed, though.
Beetle - Water cooled. It's a 1999 and it looks pretty mint. My daughter REALLY digs it.
This.
I was wearing my Soviet uniform at the swing dance...
:)
Uh, Onie they... they... took your shoes? That just reeks of freak. Hope your kidlet enjoys das Beetle. They're kicky little buggers. You guys (wave to "Passenger Zelda" are so lucky to have an eager young driver around! That's so much FUN! I'm serious! It's so much fun. Until the insurance bill.
