Perhaps another day I'll find
Something you said to grasp my mind
When opportunity has passed
To hear the voice of your sweet song
Shadows are never given due
When warmth of cold sun filters through
And mingles with the hand of fate
In a time lapsed mortality
Some precious times seem stale and flat
For story's brittle with known fact
And like board games we've tucked away
We find comfort in just knowing
The dance has slowed as music changed
And the lure of home was our claim
To sit silently reading books
And sometimes I just looked at you
Sometimes when both our eyes would meet
You'd smile and I'd feel a warm breeze
And in silence I knew your love
Would last forever in my heart
We chose patterns and say goodnight
Sometimes a smile will grace the night
And every dawning as we rise
I look at you and love my life

You have to put a lot of love and life into a marriage or a relationship to reach the point where you can say "I look at you and love my life."
Would that I had known such a love.
And the "time lapsed mortality" is a gorgeous phrase.
