What Is With All The Innocent Disney Girls Going Bad??

Ashley Tisdales New Video

I just saw this Ashley Tisdale video & I was shocked!  I think the song is good, but coming from her it is just odd to me!  My husband even informed me of some news how she posed topless.  What happened?  Why does this happen?  To name a few Disney royalty....Britney Spears, Christina Aguilara, Fergie (oh wait she was on Kid's Incorporated), Lindsey Lohan, Ashley Tisdale......

Can anyone think of any more that have just gone wrong?  

I guess I was just shocked by Ashley's provocative lyrics & hip gyrating in her video...she used to be the sweet innocent actress on The Suite Life of Zac & Cody (as well as High School Musical).  

I just wonder how this happens to the child actresses that we all look up to & then they change once they turn "of age".  

Does acting cause a child to grow up quicker?

Because they had to be so innocent on Disney do you think they decide they don't want to be known as that anymore?

I think a lot of child actors turn to the dark side. It seems like they have to grow up quickly because they're working at such a young age. Then, they get to be teenagers or young adults and feel like they missed out or something and start acting like fools.
She's actually older than you probably think. She turned 21 at the begining of the summer, and considering that, and the fact that she's well on her own way, without having gotten into any trouble up till this point, I'd have to say that she's doing pretty well.

You have to keep in mind that when she was acting, she was doing just that- acting, playing a role handed to her.

Yeah maybe...that also makes me think of Michael Jackson & I think he never had a real childhood & so that was why he was all up into having slumber parties & a carnival in his back yard. It's so sad how they turn :o(

The Mary Kate and Ashley thing also.. I saw (one of them anyway) On a Showtime preview for some show called "WEEDS" I was shocked to see a child role model smoking pot! Sure it's an adult show and rated that way... but come on..

I am not really into the clebreties and their sadly lil lives.. lol ok Im strecthing that.. I really dont pay attention a whole lot sometimes its hard to miss it.. but it is sad.. I agree with what Jill said.. had to grow up so fast and then they are free and wild.. Not just the younger girls though... to me 21 is still young! I hear about older people doing crazy stuff too! I dunno not my best subject so I will ttyl!

Tiffany I hear ya...I am not too into their lives either (cause my brother is an actor & I know they are real people...) but I just came across this video on MTV.com & I couldn't believe my eyes. Anything to write an article & have people post on it LOL ;o) You know how it is right? I just thought I would put these questions out there ;o)

I think it's a combo of a lot of things: growing up too fast, not wanting to be stereo-typed as the sweet, little girl and also the people running their lives. Sadly, a lot of these kids don't have a say in what happens...their parents and managers decide what's best for their careers...sometimes that means giving them a shocking new image. Unfortunately, once they do gain control of their lives, they don't know how to make the right decisions on their own...just look at Britney :( Of course, this is all my perspective and my opinion...everyone's different, so who knows what some of these kids are thinking!

Turn on yhe Disney channel sometime and watch them perform. These young girls are wearing tons of makeup, provocative clothes and are gyrating all over the stage . That's on the Disney channel. How many remember the original mouseketeers , at least they looked wholesome. Nowadays its all about a sexy image.

Yes - I don't know why the want to sell themselves short like that - don't they know that they are being ridiculed and will never get the respect that they would deserve if they acted in a more decent "grown-up" manner??? It's rally sad - the worst part - she'll be washed-up before she's 30 probably!!

I thought it was another girl that posed nude from the High School musical? Zac Effron's gf or something..

anyways, it all goes to a few things I think:
1) level of maturity/age
2)lack of parenting - or parents who really care
3)a star attitude of thinking they are invincible and dont need responsibility

Who said they were innocent in the first place. We put our children in front of the TV and they watch these characters and they want to be like them. I think if you were to ask them who their role models were it would show their loyalties. Brittney says Madonna was her inspiration. If you were to look into it I think the other stars would be similar.

I think you need to consider the kind of kid that Disney attracts. These aren't kids who want to be actors or musicians, they want ot be famous. These days being famous doesn't require talent or hardwork developing a craft, it requires tinier and tinier clothing.

I have a different thought on this. It is not jsut the child actors/disney gang that are growing up and facing these very real adult things earlier.
Everyday kids (I mean 10-12 years old, called tweens) are wearing makeup younger, carrying cell phones, wearing clothes that show WAY more then most of us were as late teens to adults.
I have known a 12 year old that had a drug problem, have known of a few teen mothers who were BARELY teens, have seen kids as young as 8 toting cell phones around...
I think the celeb kids are just showing us a little bit of what we need to fix with all kids.
That is my $.02 on it.

I really don't know what makes these girls go bad. It is interesting though that so many have.

It was Vanessa who had naked pictures out there, it wasn't Ashley. And Vanessa's weren't intended for public viewing (I know, she still took them). Ashley is definitely one of the most positive young talents are there (and shouldn't be categorized with the Lindsay Lohans and Britney Spears' of the world). She doesn't drink, she's not a party nut and she isn't getting out of cars w/o her her undergarments on ;)
