enjoy your day
thanks for you comment
Ok, the announcement in the magazine is kind of poorly worded.
Museum Day is for other museums around the country. You can present the coupon at participating museums and get two of you in free for general admission. It does not include special exhibits or things like Imax theater entrance.
Check your local and state museums, they most likely have a free day one day each week or on a monthly basis. The article states that "some participating museums may already have a free admission policy year round and are participating in the "spirit" of the day" so you may be getting an extra free day. Note also, there are no rain checks with this program.
Those wishing to go to the wonderful museums of the Smithsonian Institute, our national museum, entry is always free!
Although there are a few places at the Smithsonian that have a small fee. Such as the Butterfly Pavillion, link below.
As well I added a couple other interesting links.

Anyway, as someone else pointed out, this is not for Smithsonian, which is always free, but for many other museums around the US. Go to the website and find participating institutions in your area.
What wonderful information to share
with everyone.
I love going to museums!
