Poland: High Tech Commemorative Coins
Poland’s historic Warsaw Mint has added another coup to its list. In the mint’s ongoing “Great Painters of the World” commemorative series now has an additional 3 coins all of which were produced using a combination of several technologies. These rectangular coins depict the great Vincent Van Gogh’s works, “Starry Night”. one of his famous “Sunflowers” series & a self-portrait.
All of these coins are struck in sterling silver (.925 fine) in a proof finish. The coins weigh in at 28.28 grams & measure 40mm x 28mm. Each coin will have a set mintage of 10,000 only. These coins feature partial colorization along with the embedization of 3 zircon crystals. This technology makes the coins ultimately unique and thus highly collectible. These coins are now on sale via usual channels.
