When Will I Learn?

When I decided to make a banner for the forums to match my novel I figured I'd throw one together and not fuss. When will I learn that I'm going to fuss wether I planned to or not?

Below you'll find the results of my "not fussing" tonight.

Banner One - I really like the way this all blends. The little girl is precious, but does not reflect the ghost boy I wanted to depict. The woman does look how I imagine my FMC to be, but her hair is all off. This photo of this woman is a good 30-40 years after my novel's date and therefore not very accurate at all.

Banner Two - This boy is just too cute for words. I like having the boy on the banner even though I was unable to fade him into the background as planned. The woman is much more historically accurate and does also remind me of my FMC. However I was not happy with the text being off and the differing tones of the photos doesn't mesh as well as banner #1 does. Also the boy's clothes do look more modern than the year he's supposed to have been photographed in.

Banner Three - This is back to the first banner that I really liked. I edited the woman's hair to look as though it was up rather than cascading in curls. The result is a blended cute banner with more historical accuracy, but still no ghost boy.

Banner Four - This is different. I used a new woman who also could pass for Bridget. This time I found a cute more era-like little boy to use and was even able to fade him into the background a bit. I got the monochromatic look in this one too where it all blends and just looks good.

Now I only need to decide what one or ones to use. Seeing as each woman is different I should really just pick only one.. and right now I'm debating between #3 and #4.
