Grace

The last two days have been amazing for me. I joined a "Journey" group, reluctantly last Nov. My husband had recently died and a woman I was acquainted with asked me if I'd like to join a women's group that she was hosting. She said she felt very strongly about it and she had never done anything like this before, but she felt compelled to invite me to join. I said I will think about it. I had always shied away from these things...and God put me in her path 5x over the course of 2 days, so I joined.I felt He was trying to tell me something. Let's just say they helped me spiritually through a VERY VERY difficult time in my life.

These women, I can honestly say, I hope to have as lifelong friends. Cindy taught us about Grace at our first retreat this past weekend and it was awesome.

From the teachings I attended I think Grace from God is a lot like the love a mother has for her child. The child has not earned that love, but it is just granted. I am not a bible thumper per say, but I do believe and I know that these women were put in my life for a reason and it has helped me immensely. So when I know I can't handle something by myself, I am going to ask God for the grace to let me cope.

Things happen for a reason. I was ringing register at Borders when I bumped into a woman whose son was going into the ACE program to get a Master's in education. I talked to my husband about it and he was game so I started researching. While researching I ran across an ad to teach English in Moscow. Again, my husband was game and he called the office of a friend to ask for a recommendation letter. This friend's secretary said, "I taught for a year in Korea and it was the greatest year of my life."

So here I am in Korea because of a chance conversation at a cash register 2 and a half years ago.

Grace is exactly as you described it. A gift from a parent to a child. LOVE is grace. God bless and sometimes those "womens" groups are the greatest thing you can do.

When I'm standing at St. Peter's Gate and I'm confronted with the question "what did you enjoy most in your life?" My answer will be "the choreography". The human dance of people moving in and out of our lives is extraordinary. I'm a firm believer that we meet one another for a reason.

I don't know where I first read this inspiration, but it holds a very special place in my soul:

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Others stay for a while and leave footprints on our hearts. And we are never, ever the same.

I think that you are so right also. You were put in their paths for a reason. I have a very hard problem with committments. Especially with people. I can meet job commitments its going out with friends or making advance plans....I plan to go somewhere like the gym with a friend, and then the time comes and I back out. I have to say that I am glad, however that you followed through with those ladies. You were blessed.

It helps to have other people areound when you have such a devastating loss, if for no other reason than you can listen to their problems and forget your own for a little while.

Extremely well written.. Everyone comes into our lives for a reason. And a lot of times, they come in exactly when we need them to arrive in our lives. Just like God planned.
