Welcome USC Trojans members and anyone who should happen on this.
"This is a tough, tough road every single week. And Washington State, they're going to show you they're a really good team."
Pete Carroll
Number 1 USC (2-0) welcomes the Washington State University Cougars (2-1) and are favored to win by 25 points in front of 90,000 plus fans in the LA Coliseum. I'm not so sure the spread will be that wide because the Cougars are often spoilers. Her in our family, we've always favored the UW Huskies over the Cougars so we have two reasons to root for the Trojans. As a USC Mom, it's Men of Troy all the way. The Househusband is driving home as I write this and is bummed that he'll maybe only catch the post-game show.
Drew Bledsoe, recently retired from the NFL and former WSU quarterback while watching the Michigan-Penn State game today conceded that the Cougs have an uphill battle, but upsets aren't unheard of, so he's hoping they can pull it off.
I just hope that John David keeps control of the ball, his offensive line protects him from the Washington farm boys and his receivers are in the right place at the right time.
Next week - expect photos! The Sensational Son is turning 21 and flying home for the weekend. He and The Househusband will be hanging with the NW USC Alumni Association on a boat tour of Lake Washington, "Tailgate" buffet on the boat, dockside drop-off for the game with the UW Huskies, cheering together, and getting picked up by the boat (this keeps them from having to find parking near the stadium as well). Nothing is guaranteed, but his birthday weekend has always been filled with beautiful autumn weather.

WSU intercepts
I was surprised to find my son watching a college game. We live near the Kansas City Chief's stadium, and every Friday during the FB season it is expected for us in KC to wear red. They really go all out with their tailgate parties too. Personally I would rather watch on TV than at the stadium.
We don't sound like we have much of a team this year; we have lost a lot of great players since I've moved here in 95. But this still doesn't dampen the true KC Chief's fans here. They will still sit in the stands during the worst weather, in support of the team.
We will have the new Sprint arena to fill, starting in October. I wish we would get a basket ball team in there, but it seems they are looking more for a hockey team to fill it. The Sprint arena is less than a block away from my work, and I got free parking! The arena looks like a glass punch bowl. I think it is a beautiful building. We just have to get the rest of downtown fixed up. It is a real mess DT, we have so much construction and street repairs going on, it looks like we've been in a war.
