Hi all,
For those of you who asked for photos, here they are.
My trip was AMAZING. My 2nd time to Iceland did not let me down. :)
The full story/article will come soon. However, the 'real world' has stolen me once again (grad school started again this week)...and work is busy as we ramp up for the fall and holidays (ack, did I really say that word out loud?).
Please let me know if you have any questions about my trip. I love telling stories about what it's like there...and for those that go the first time it's always helpful to ask someone who has been.
I'll write soon...I promise.

You're welcome. Photos tell more than words with a trip like this.

John,
Hope you got to come back and visit he photos. Some people are not able to view Snapfish on their computers...I'm hoping you were able to get in.

Day Tripper: Yep, that was me sitting and taking it all in. Many places we saw we were the only humans there. Glad you stopped by the article, I was figuring you would like to see our photos. :)

LL, thank you!
I got to go to Mexico to study volcanoes and I was fascinated to see all the volcanic landforms. The waterfalls over the basalt columns were stunning.
Oh, and some nice pictures of the rain bow too.
Did you have trouble with the language?
Thank you for stopping by. As for the language--that was a huge factor as to why we went back. Icelandic people speak German, English, and Icelandic. When you go out to eat you are given an English version of the menu. When we stopped for lunch along the way at various sandwich shops etc. the shop owner was able to help us without a problem if there was no English version of the menu. We have not had any trouble with language there.
What drew us there the first time was recommendations from friends that had gone before. Also, the first time we did the 'Icelandic Stopover' where our flight to anywhere in Europe was free. So we stayed for 3 days and headed to Scotland for the last 5 days of our trip (all pre-planned of course). After that trip we longed to return and to just have 10 days to explore the West & the North.
Another factor for us was the close distance to Boston and the fact that we can fly there direct in 4.5 hrs. :)
*laughs* too funny!
