Do any of you use software??
I noticed one on here that was advertised. I was pleased with what it offered until it spelled "licence" incorrectly for this country! So, I am wondering what software is good for writing/grammar. I obviously need something that has smarter technology, can "read" through a sentence and fix it. I already have word!
Do any writers out there use any of this software? What about the one on here. I need a US version. I don't want to pay hundreds. Just need a little help with grammar, adjectives, etc.
Please chime in! Happy commenting and reading today!

I have word already, but I need something that will work with word, like that Whitesmoke program they advertise on gather. I think that would work, but it must be US english.
I need help wording things, it's been too long since I had English classes :). I have thesaurus and flip dictionary, but it takes very long to look something while revising.
I hope you get a good answer to your question. As a fellow writer, I'd caution you against depending on any program except as a preliminary check for spelling and grammatical errors. Just recently, I read a book by a well-known writer where "cinnamon roll" was spelled "cinnamon role".
I was a bit taken aback. It does seem to me like errors are INCREASING, not decreasing, in today's books and magazines, perhaps because there is too much reliance on automated programs or because there aren't enough editorial backups. Of course, typos got by in the "old days" as well (and were often the way first editions could be distinguished from older editions) but it still seems as though it is happening more - or perhaps I'm just noticing it more.
It is just that there were NO answers when I typed my reply. That'll show me to assume that it would appear before you got other replies.
I am grateful to all who take the time to write and comment! God Bless!
