Ancient Test of Life. My son discovered this while on his tour of duty in Iraq.
He would share this test by going to the mess hall and sending it to someone's lap top if he saw them there and knew their e-mail address.

In an old temple we found an inscription that was translated as a test to determine how long your life will be.
Hold your hand up in front of you, palm toward you, fingers pointing up. Now see if you can fold your index finder down toward your life line, (the crease across the middle of your palm.)
Once it is as folded as you can get it, hold it there and note if you can see your pulse beat at your wrist.
Now still keeping your index finger folded, fold your pinkie down toward your lifeline and once it is folded as far as it will go, fold in your ring finger the same way. Now even if your palm feels cramped, slowly straighten your elbow, while watching the pulse beat at your wrist.
Now look right then look left.
If you see a Marine looking your way, you've just about reached the end of a very short life.
