I took my seventeen year old son to get his senior portraits this morning. He was so handsome. I had to pick the sittings without him, and I chose four different outfits. One is a standard, a tuxedo for the yearbook. He wore a casual polo in another shot, and I think that one was really nice. He wore a black dress shirt in another. He was so funny, because he saw all of the accessories hanging on the wall. He wanted a picture with a hot pink feather boa. It was hilarious to see this big burly guy with that on, but the photographer played along. I also had him take one in a cap and gown, and he did not want to do it at all. I told him that I worked hard to get him to graduate, and wanted to see him in it. He did it for me.
It was funny, because minutes before he was asserting his independence. When we got in there he wanted me to help him with his collar, his tie and picking out the clothes. It is so funny how they decide from one minute to the next whether you can help them. We had a lot of fun. I can't wait to see the proofs next week!

Congrats to your son. The world is yours young man. Work hard, work smart but enjoy every moment. God bless you - and your mom for writing this piece.
It sounds like having the pictures made is going to be a special memory to go with the picture. That is great. Congratulations to your son on reaching this point, and to you for allowing him to live to see it...LOL
