"Dada" was his first word, and he has increased his vocabulary quite a bit. But now, for some reason, when I ask him to get me a diaper, his never starts with a "D." It always comes out as "bopper." I have tried prompting him: "Say diaper...d, d, diaper." And he will repeat: "d, d, bopper?" The inflection in his voice is always more of a question than a statement. And it sounds more like bopper than it does biaper. But he knows what it is, even if he can't say the word correctly.
Furthermore, he calls his brother, "Dat-chew"
Selective use of the letter "D" I suppose...

couldn't even bribe a yes ,mama,or anything out of him!
My girls are 5 and learning phonics, but it's amazing what sounds they pick up on. I had a conversation with one about the word "tree", and she thought it was a "ch" sound, like "chree" -- we've had a hard time describing the difference! ;)
