I know
you are almost
a man
but you will always
be my boy.
I know
you don't want
your mom
but I will
love you anyway.
I know
you think I
am stupid
how could
I know anything.
Just know
one day
you will
remember
how much I love you.

my Mom is the smartest and wisest person on the earth, because he will be experiencing things he knows you have gotten through and look back in amazement at how strong and great you really are. I had that period where all of my kids were taller than me, bigger than me and smarter than me, but suddenly I am their fountain of wisdom when they need me still, and are all over 52, so it doesn't take nearly that long, just let them find out what real life is like and on their own for a bit and they will get that sudden Flash. Mom, she was right!!!.
He also calls for advice and for cooking answers. He sometimes calls me from the grocery store to ask me which aisle he might find an ingredient he needs for a recipe or to ask me what he can substitute for an ingredient he can't find at the store.
They do need us and they eventually realize it.
I love your poem. i athink a lot us us moms can relate to it. And I am sure you have it wrong when you said
"I know you don't want your mom"
